This method rely's on the shock you create when you hit the spanner to loosen the nut. As in your case if it has been removed not to long ago it should come off with out to much trouble but it is a BMW . Just remember it is a left hand thread.

This has been mentioned a number of times google is your friend. The only thing to remember is that the connection between fan and pump is. It is left hand thread have removed these myself with the correct size spanner and a rubber mallet. With the spanner fitted securely and at an angle to give room for the spanner to move with out braking anything give the spanner a good whack. Once loose undo the nut a few turns then remove the rivets holding the fan shroud on. Now remove the fan from the water pump and holding onto it and the shroud lift both out.

The numbers you have shown are after market the top one seems to be Bosch

The part numbers for bmw parts are either 11 or 7 digits long some after market ones could be different ie the one's you have shown.

Assume it is an air flow meter you are after according to parts cat Realoem .com a e30  has 13621286615, e36 13621466359 , if an e34 the number for the e30 will do.Its under the fuel preparation section.http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do

Ok, just ran the v1.4.0 over the cluster set up in the cluster part had a heading Service intervals SIA, Time/days, Litre, Kilometers SI, Litres SI, Min Time to reset,Min litres to reset. Then under that it has another section Reset/ speed values, mile off set, speed imp/km, Distance imp/km each of these sections has numbers beside them. Where does one begin to alter these values or is their some formula needed.

Interested to know how the service intervals can be reduced by changing the info stored in the cluster. Think the standard is around 25,000k but only doing 14 a yr  if lucky.

Charlie,take the $112 trademe would get and see what it will buy you in adds etc to sell the lens you mentioned. Not a fan of tar me either but NZ is limited so go with what gets it out their and reaches the most people. Have you had a look at the speakers used in the e46 Compact these are about 45mm deep and connect to the metal of the door, Only 150mm in dia though

Why not flip it on its head then make it a coffee shop that sells petrol on the side after all kiwis love to drive and cars do need fuel as do humans need fluids ie coffee.As you say theirs more profit in selling coffee so why not open one. Or provide parking for the bean drinkers so those who wish to fill up can do so with out being inconvenienced. Really though its human nature consider your own needs first to hell with who you inconvenience in the process getting your morning fix.

Is it getting to the right place's though if it is a fuel problem.Items that I know of which could course trouble fuel pump. If you turn the key to position one or two but don't crank it can you hear the fuel pump working it is situated under the rear seat you might need a extra pair of hands to help?. On e46s these can give up the ghost at any time and with no warning. Has the fuel filter been changed these can fail or become blocked. On your fuel rail their is a bleed valve hold it open and see if fuel is pushed out as you crank the engine be careful doing this. Have a look at the two links they show the fuel system might be of some help.

Are you sure it is fuse 21? looking on the fuse chart 21 is not used . Where fuse 24 is used to power  both the mirror and the PDC unit . Unsure all I know is the reverse circuit the PDC and the auto dip mirror all have a connection in x428. It could be possible I suppose to get a feed back say through a faulty reverse switch or PDC unit. Should be able to run a volt meter over the circuits to see if any voltage is present with the key turned off.

Take your business else where surely their must be more than one petrol station in HAM town  that sells gas u want. OH let the manger know what your doing and he's loosing custom over a cup of beans sure that will makes his day. Plus tell your friend as well

Was the mirror from a Japanese import with the infrared remote entry if so their are two fuses to this unit. One for the auto dip and one for the remote entry fuses 24, 67 Also the auto dip part is wired into the reverse light, PDC if fitted circuit via a common connector x428 which is situated above the main fuse box a blue wire with a green trace BL/GE.Have had a further look and found in my notes the pin numbers on the mirror connector  the coloured wires and where they go if you want that info
