  1. Do the rx7 brake conversion for brakes and if you had the money go coilovers if ur gona track/slide it or just h&r with koni's or billy's.

Yes coil overs stretch the wallet a tad too far :S Although i have been eyeing out speed factors sleeve and coil kit, and working on making use of the full potential of my Konis. Also RX7 brakes is also a bit of a stretch. I just made a 3" mandrel bent exhaust for my e30, took a bit out of the build budget.

    Who's your certifier?

I passed my cert with some generic cheaper non-OEM pads, fresh fluid bleed with Motul 5.1 (boiling points worse than Castrol SRF dot 4 from what i've read), and SAFEBRAKE braided lines from Driven Performance

I actually have hawk pads in, so i was quite surprised when he told me that i had quite a bit of fade. Certifier is Fraser Cars, Beachaven.

All this hassle will be worth it. can't wait to start driving my e30 again.

  2. Hello all,

Anyone here running h&r race springs with koni sports adjust? How are they? Or is there any other recommendations?

Basically mr cert man has told me that my front spring rate is too soft for the new motor. So I was thinking of h&r race springs to help stiffen things up.

he also told me there was too much brake fade.

so what race/road brakes pads suit the e30?

    thank you all in advance.

  3. You can see from this picture (yes i cut it on the piss lol) but also how far back i cut them to clear the steering shaft. i put it on a large belt sander at work and worked it flat.

i used a die grinder on the inside edges to remove the burrs. And chamfer the outside edges. (not in pic)

i also used the die grinder on the flange (inside the ports) to open things up a bit.

The tubular pipe looks circular but it was still much bigger than the flange ports. Hope this helps.

  4. When you welded them did you have to squash the pipe into a oval type shape to better fit the flange or did you just weld it straight on?

I cut them so the section was a tad bigger than the oval cut out in the flange. Used a die grinder to chamfer the edges. Then butt welded (tig'd) them on.

  5. saw you stopped on the highway day before? was something wrong with it?

Lol wheel adapters -_-" . Should have stopped, had a picnic. Would have been a jolly ole laugh

It ain't an e30 24v swap if it doesn't have reliability issues ha.

    sh*t. I thought I was upgrading from the m20.

hey, they're supposed to be more reliable! haha.

Dont think I've had my e30 leave me stranded anywhere other than a fuel pump that failed once, and I knew that was dieing for months I was just too lazy / tight to replace it before it failed. you should turbo your touring btw...

Haha yeh, the only time it has left me stranded. Sucks. I had just finished work. Really wasn't in the mood! haha
