A well maintained original m325i is worth every bit of 7000.
It's not an m325i thou.

where did you get this spec paper?
From the link provided within the auction

Im sure a dealer in Dunedin was selling this recently. Sat on TM for well over a year at around the 5k mark. There was no mention of having a possible blown head gasket in their listing thou.
dont all e36 iS have Mtech kits?
Nope, my old one didnt. Only motorsport versions come with the kit.

Of very little help to you but mine does anywhere between 12-15L / 100km of mainly round town driving.

Lucan, I'd be keen to see a write up on your process of replacing the upholstery.

looks good brett! have you gone back to a chrome grill though? think it would suit that car more than the black?
Im still running the black grille Andy. Actually quite like it now...

I thought it was about time I started a project thread to document what I have already done and what I plan to do to my E30. Hopefully it'll give me a little motivation to get thru the list of items that require attention.
When I brought it 6 months ago it was running a little rough. After a quick trip to the Park Road E30 Performance Centre, the problem was quickly resolved. The distributor cap had a huge crack so that was promptly replaced and now runs like a dream.
Items that no longer require attention:
Oil change,
Fitted a SA spec boot lining and half a tool kit ,
Replaced the sump that had a hairline crack,
Removed the superlow springs in the rear that were not captive and replaced them with some lows,
Fitted E36 window switches,
Items that require attention:
Insert items listed on back of Heineken box here...
Here are some photos on the day I aquired the car.
Enjoy

So does anyone have any ideas on this? Or is it really the norm?
-
If this is the best issue you can give us then e30 ownership has been treating you very well Brett!
Ha ha cheers Max. Has a few little things that require attention but nothing major. Should really start a project thread. Will give me a bit of motivation to get the bits n pieces done.

The E30 seems to take a while to warm up. Tends to take 5-10 mins, about 5km before the it reaches temperature.
I have recently replaced the thermostat which did make it better bit still seems to take some time. Is this normal? All help/info would be appreciated.
Cheers

I'm temporarily working for a construction company doing a bit of pricing and project management. I have been using QS2000. Was easy to pick up and reasonably priced. Here is a link: http://www.duffieldmurray.co.nz/
