  1. Private hire, so race or road cars will be fine.
This is a cost share day, where John from the track is organising others to join in, at present he has a couple of muscle car guys who are interested, Porsche Racers ..

Normal start time, think its after the horses are finished 10:00.

No need to pre-book, just turn up and pay on the day.

  2. I've simply just removed the belt on the race car. Still technically not legal (as my WOF man initially pointed out) but turns a blind eye

now based on the facts - A: he is a race car man himself & B: he understands the reasoning for.

Andy's suggestion is probably the best - without evidence of a power rack - no one will probably notice.

Bear in mind though - steering is rather heavy for manouvering in tight spaces.

I've done the same, in fact I'd expect all of the E30 series cars would have dropped the belt (so it can be returned for Targa / hill climbs / rallys etc) or replaced the rack.

  3. I have a negative attitude towards road cyclists I admit. But I can honestly say MOST cyclists I see are not following our road rules in one way or another.

Just like MOST motorcyclists I see are not following our road rules.

It is not a minority ruining it for the majority in my opinion.

Well..he who is without sin can cast the first stone..

Like most cyclists I'm also a motorist.

I cycle for fitness on weekends (early in morning before anyone is up) and daily commute to work.

I've had car door flung open, busses overtake then stop instantly at a bus stop, busses nearly complete the pass before they pull into a lay-by, bottles thrown and drinks squirted. My kids have been knocked off their bike by opening car doors.. my 13yo son was thrown into the path of an oncoming car..

Yes I see some cyclists running Orange / Red / Ped X- UNACCEPTABLE - just like motorists that run Orange / Red / Ped X, block intersections that they shouldn't have entered in the first place..

We all need to share the road and obey the road rules, else someone gets hurt, likely a motorist on a bike.

  4. I have an E90 Motorsport with front tyres oem 225-45-17 rear oem 255-40-17 these are run flats and near the end of their life. I intend to change to normal tyres. Does anyone here who has changed over and has a good all round tyre Rain/ Dry not too soft not too hard that they can recommend. I would be grateful

Many E90s have dropped the run-flats; expensive / noisy / harsh ride.. I'm pleased with the Continental Contact MC5 on my Msport, and carrying an air pump & repair kit.

  5. Need some help guys, I just got turned down by ASB and State as I am disclosing about $6k worth of modifications:

    - Strut bars (do these need disclosing?)

    - Blisten shocks

    - Alloys

    - Cooling system

The exhaust and brakes are performance, but they're BMW ones and pretty sure they were an "add-on" at purchase.

As I bought the car with these mods, I don't actually have any idea what they actually cost...

AA has quoted me $117 per month with those modifications (although didn't ask about the alloys) through their online quote.

State suggested NAC and then I've just had a look at Swann.

    What do you guys think?

I'd recommend Swann, get their Track Day cover also...

Was a fantastic event - a must see / attend / compete.. were plenty of BMW's competeing : Grant Clegg (2002ti alpina), Barry Kirk-Burnand (E30 M3), Tim James (E92 M3) all broke into 59's.. my best in E30 was 65's.
