SIR E30

Hi All,

Selling a complete E30 M20B20 engine. Comes with AFM, ECU and Loom if needed. Runs well, have video of running before unhooked and pulled, has done around 200km and has a fresh cambelt.
Also have a dead auto gearbox that only goes forwards and a complete twin pipe exhaust.

Is this crap even worth money? Its free if you pick it up otherwise I'll take it to the scrappy.. Or you pay shipping and I'll put it on a pallet.
Will also trade for E30 manual pedal box with master cyl and lines and smaller style E21 or golf brake boosters (which I need if anyone has this stuff for sale)

The V8 version of the ZF S5D only uses a different front half casing to the 6cyl.

This is a wanted thread.. Use google or start a new thread to discuss gearboxes.

I suspect your best bet will be to go through eBay. Far more common in the US & UK, can be landed in NZ for comparable or cheaper than sourcing one locally.

What are you planning to use it for? Generally folk don't go looking for a 420G unless they have something special in the works

Youre right, there is a 6sp on ebay now for peanuts.. But Im scared of going down the 6 cog road, purely for finding parts in the future.. But I stand to be corrected on that one. Its also longer and harder to fit.

In regards to plans, I will keep this face on for now -

My other option here is a W57 or similar from supra etc with a custom bellhousing. Both cost a similar amount.

Im not sure how far swapping for parts will take you. I have seen some of these boxes listed for over 2500 each

I realise that, I wouldnt expect it to be a straight swap - but hey, it all counts.

On the search for a 5 speed manual for M60/62. ie - out of E39 etc
No rush for the box, but I realise they are hard to find so Im beginning the search now.
Can trade for M20 parts or engine (I have a good B20 with fresh cambelt etc)

I can add insight.. I went and viewed the car with Blair today. It is rougher than expected, my advice is dont go out of your way to see it. He wont budge on his price either. Blair and I offered him low to mid 2k and he wasnt interested. If you want to know more send me a pm as Im not prepared to go baggin' this guys car on a public domain..

I hope to rent mine out locally so if anyone in Tarankai wants to use it, will be $20 for weekend to rent

I agree. Like I said, Im willing to pay, but itd be silly to not try and find a set locally first. Im not about blowing money willy nilly, Id like to try and save a buck or two if I can.

Yea at Tunershop they work out to be around 1500 for a set, plus shipping and GST.. Not a cheap set of wheels. I will if I absolutely have to, but I'll see if anyone here wants to part with any first.

Does he still frequent the forum? Or would I be better trying to find him on facebook?
