How much would an original set go for? 18x8 and 18x9.5 and how does one tell if these are original? May have a set for sale, looking for 19s....price in relation to condition is understandable just wondering the round about price of a good set of M Pars

+1 I could do without the v8 rumble then! I guess i was also looking at cost effective ways of dropping a V8 into her, i love low down power. It maybe easier after reading the above that she stays as is and i try to find a v8 touring........ha! The link provided is for a sedan and im making my way through the doc......the more i read though it becomes apparent that it is not as simple as drop in, plug in and off you go! The 1uz to me is best engine for cost which i presume would also include a aftermarket ecu...M60 engine or M62 look like a mission where as i thought it would be a simple plug n play and the engine would bolt to the box etc....Reading further i will have to change the front end - struts, sway bars bushes etc...

Thanks guys, i appreciate your comments. Just doing a few things to tidy her up it has become a project!

Thought its about time i post a pic

MMMmmmmm, S62 = The Dream! The problem with "just go to a 540i" is that the majority of them are sedans! I currently have a touring and i believe it's tidy as! I have been keeping an eye out for one for a while now and this popped up recently.... Thanks for your responses guys, really appreciate it Projects are awesome just have to nut em out thoroughly...i know you will always hit speed bumps! lol!! I like the idea of a supercharger as it as mentioned - bolt on mods!! The v8 is pulling me in though!! damnit!

Hey team, Ok so i have myself an E39 Touring 528i, I just love the beema wagons! Well infact i love wagons over sedans and the Touring seems to be a hard one to come by..... I am wanting to reach out to you guys and offer your knowledge on doing a v8 conversion as i love the sound! Im tossing up between a Lexus 1uz fe and the M60 or M62. What would be the better option in terms of cost and ease of install? Will the BM engines drop straight in and plug into the current loom etc, Lexus will need to be run by an aftermarket ecu? I am currently changing the front end on my touring in regards to suspension (struts are shot), bushes etc.... Any tips you guys can give me would be awesome, i would love to keep this standard and trade in on a 540i Touring but i dont think a v8 touring will pop up anytime soon!

Thanks Allan, ill jack up the car and have a look around the end links and bushings once home Noise is driving me nuts!! Maybe Mr Milland would like to drop in on this conversation and provide some costs on OEM replacement and if possible some BOGE replacements? On that note why do people bag Monroes? Is it the ride or build quality or both? -

One would assume both but i can only go on that - an assumption.... Does anyone know where you can get these links from. Both Sedan and Wagon must use the same SLS setup? I own a touring so my research has been bias -

You can lower the rear if you are SLS, my Touring is SLS and you can either get Rear Adjustable Links (Adjustable Links DIY) or you can have Jeff Grays lower it using MODIC software....(MODIC Software FYI) The first link is a DIY to adjust your current links but later in that post a member has shown the adjustable links you can purchase from overseas. I think using the adjustable links is the way to go though I have no idea where to get these is NZ??!! -
Also keen to get in touch with Keith! Need new front struts and reccomendations for my E39 Touring!

Hey peeps, I searched high and low and im beginning to think that this is all personal preference! I am in need of new struts on my e39 99 Touring Im already running H&R springs up front and will source some adjustable links for the rear end being SLS...On that note can anyone suggest where to get these links from or would it be easier to make my own? Back to the topic of struts...Im looking at either Koni or Bilstein, im doing this for handling and overall a good amount of drop in the front, the rear can match how low i go, not wanting chopped springs or adjustables and i dont mind how she rides as my WRX had adjustables and that was fine.... My thought process was to shorten the internals of the struts by doing this will i run into any problems? Tyre rubbing on the bottom of the strut? Does anyone know the length of the standard internals..? Thanks for your help, just trying to get my head around this! Ultimately adjustables will be the best option but im using what i have at current then i will look at adjustables later on....How much are certs these days?

Thanks guys, Ill upload some pics at some stage, still not up to my spec of being tidy etc. Forgot to add - 18" M Wheels and lowered on H&R Springs Will begin enquiries on prices - Appreciate your help!
