  1. start it at night and look for loss of spark a plug lead earthing somwhere maybe??

    check plug to airflow meter aswell

    inspect underside of intake for a vacuum hose that came off, have had that before revs high and splutters with popping sound

    Its gota be something small like a hose or a shitty injector or w/e. the more I think about it the less I think it is the dizzy or leads due to it idling absolutely fine.


  2. check for moisture/carbon build up etc in the dizzy cap ,

    excessive wear in the cap and rotor etc

    So, the Dizzy Cap is pretty worn but wasnt overly dirty or anything

    Gave it a clean, changed over some leads, new plugs and put a factory Intake on. ( dont ask why it had a podfilter )

    runs fine when I give it f**k all throttle but anywhere past 10% it starts cracking and snapping inside the Intake Manifold..

    going to give a new fuel filter a crack today ( And some 98Fuel ) and see if that makes any difference.

    If not, ill drop the money on a new Dizzy next month ( Ball and Chain probably wants a birthday present ) and see what that achieves.

  3. might just do that mate but was kinda hoping id be able to do it myself..have done everything else ion my car...not fond of sending it to someone else and learning nothing plus i quite enjoy working on her haha

    just need a damn bearing puller..only have a bushing puller maybe make one haha

    I know exactly what you mean. But for the amount of time you f**k around with it and the cost of tools + skinned knuckles dumb sh*t like wheel bearings just arent worth the hassle IMO

  5. Went and got a replacement regulator + motor.. $80... ( Bit steep i thought ) aaaaannnddd it was f**ked aswel.

    going to go get my money back tomorrow and get my friend to order me one through work

    $60 for a brand new regulator.. Cheers Mercedes Benz North Shore.

    Still yet to buy a torx bit But I spose ill need one so thats just another thing on the list.

  6. took my e30 up the street to try figure out what was knocking ( still havent ) and it started farting out the intake.

    at first i thought it was an exhaust leak but then there is no pitapata idle

    sooo maybe plugs? leads? some other random sh*t?

    help is much appreciated as i was planning on getting it legal in a couple weeks..


  7. You sure its the regulator? have you tested the power at the motor or tried switching the motor from the passenger side?

    I honestly have no f**king idea. hahah

    When I press the switch, the door clicks and thats about all im basing my assumption on.

    No hate, I am honestly just curious as to why people butcher the front of their car ( Nissans incl ) just to have a big front mount
