yeah he finally got back to me just waiting to confirm housing size
if its 22cm thats not too bad considering its a t3 size frame.
Ill make a thread about the project once parts start flooding in
So far I have a car and ecu (polley should be sending tomorrow hopefully)
so not much to write about yet haha
-
Does anyone know much about these turbos?
It came off a DAF Lkw CF85 truck.
All I can find from searching part numbers on the BW site is that it has a 22cm* housing
but that means nothing without turbine diameters etc.
They seem to be a popular turbo with the scandies but i cant decipher that sh*t
plus i dont know any finish etc. forums to find info on
300th post!!

If you get an M50NV you can adjust the factory cam gears for overlap
but only a limited amount (about 4 deg either way I think)
-
I doubt you will get 350hp just by adding a hair drier
lol reminds me of time I was posting smack about mapecu to you crunchy haha
-
Im keen on a .120" gasket as well M50B25 non vanos
-
1 thing to think of first if your going to slam it is to install the rear sub frame reinforcement kit
none progressive coils have a tendency of ripping the sub frame mounts out of the floor
very messy wish i was warned of this
I dunno if this is due to type of springs.
My diff fell out but that was from kicking the clutch like an epileptic
-
why dont you measure how low you want teh guards to be
and then check specs on available adjustables.
If thats not low enough make shortened front struts
and use shorter shocks in the rear
-
I was gonna buy a 190e cause current e30 prices are stupid
but now i dont know if i want to be associated with that song lol
-
like he said^
long block length 670mm + 90mm for fan and water pump assy
width 265mm without intake (couldnt find intake mani sorry)
getrag case 500mm + 60mm to end of output shaft
-
Does it include loom and software etc.
Was this a turbo m50 or standard?
Also I take it this is a fuel and ignition ecu?
-
Ive got an m50 and a manual box in the garage I can measure

I widened a set of steelies at work a couple weeks ago
increased width by 7 inches to a 14x13 for a trailer of all things lol.
Its a pretty basic exercise
-
Not a fan of the wheel colour tbh
And as josh said guards are looking a bit hori now
How come you didnt just go ultra camber on them bad boys?
Could of saved the paint.
Whats the wheel specs by the way?
-
Planning a trip to oz at the end of the year so Im gonna start selling off some car parts.
And this is the first thing I can think of thats in the garage.
Im not definite on exact specs
I think its a g1 v3,4,5?
Was originally set up for a mazda b6t (1600 turbo)
Able to be configured for other engines though
Has an extra black box with it?
Guessing its an igntior or something
I may still have the loom but it was a bit cut up if I remember correctly
so might not be of any use
$300ono
-
Have now
Cheers Ill keep an eye on that one I think
-
Are all the parts in usable condition?
-
LS1 is the
bestonly option -
Ive got a project for tec and in need of bike bits or a whole bike
Needs to be 600cc or bigger (75hp minimum)
Most importantly it must be cheap
Damaged or de-regd is perfect as long as engine and elecs work

I'd love to buy a tig weld can you imagine all the good things you could make with one... def be making mufflers and roll cages and exhaust manifolds etc... may have to invest in one i think.
From what I hear the cheapy Mitech ones on trademe are good for diy.
Theyre high frequency so you can weld aluminium too.
-
yeah ill flag the brembo thing i think... i dont think its fast enough yet haha, pads are easy to find though some Porsche and Ferrari use them.
But the car is running mint hasn't skipped a beat, im lov'n it.. um the fuel problem... turns out there isn't one tat i know of, happy days. laugh.gif
Thats awesome man
So youve got no problems with running lean, detonation etc?
What injectors are you using?
going to seek a different muffler for the rear that thing is heavy as. Straight pipe replace??
You seem quite confident with your fabrication,
why dont you just make your own muffler?
I started making one at tec on monday
get pipe
drill ass load of holes in it
wrap pipe with mesh
make an outside case for it
weld pipe in case
stuff with fibreglass
done.
Theres obviously a bit more finesse involved in making a muffler
but thats the bulk of it.
-
From what Ive read the E38 brembos are sh*t for track use.
Pistons seals cant take extra heat, hard to find decent pads etc.
Though I might be wrong (I usually am )
How is the car running?
Did you solve the fuelling problem?
-
Looking good man
25DET loom might get tricky
Im pretty sure they have different crank sensors to m50/52 among other things
Gavin Bellars at Hi Velocity in Auckland can remap your standard ECU though.
GO turbo! Someone has to. Im too lazy to finish mine haha
