  1. Xtra Go Large for me. Posted Image

I usually get double that after 12pm though and during the day before 3pm. Still sux compaired to the 8mb line I had in the UK at 1/4 the cost of the shitty go large plan.

Downloading from Rapidshare during the day I get about 500kpbs. Which is pretty sweet I guess for home in NZ. Go Larger blocks torrent programs though. Think they close ports or something.

  2. The Japs have been doing this for many a year in the drift scene. The main reason is to make the tyre sidewall extreamly hard. So there is no tyre roll at all. It has nothing to do with looks. Looks are the last thing a drifter gives a crap about.

Most of the guys you see driving around on the road in NZ that have stretched tyres however are doing it just to get that drift look. And sometimes to actually get the tyres under the gaurd due to the low or negative offsets on their wheels.

The Japs will laugh at anything under 9 wide. And big fat ugly tyres look sh*t on narrow rims. Quite often I walk past a car with "Massive" 8 inch wide wheels with horrible looking 255/45's.

  3. No I havent bothered to claim on anything as I dont have a detailed list of what was in the cars. Also they will use the old "It might have been stolen in Japan or on the boat" bullshit.

The ports is a very close community. Its very hard for an outsider to get a job there. Most people you will find are related or mates. When someone leaves, the job gets offered to the next family member or mate.

And yes they do thrash the cars. I have been there when a car has gone flatout past me in 1st gear hitting the limiter. Was a brand spanking new Holden Astra fresh off the boat.

Makes you wonder if anyone is honest down there at all.

  4. Security at the ports is non existant. You can get the keys from the main office where they are all kept. I recently lost about $3500 - $4000 worth of parts from my two 180SX's I imported.

Its the security and dock workers who have the first dibs on you bits. Then the Maf guys have a go as they have more time in the cars. Then the Truck drivers take whats left. This is what someone on the warfs has told me goes on.

  5. On a Motorola I doubt that could ever be possible. It would prob just crash or the battery would run out. Only phones with Wifi can do it from factory. There maybe a program to do it but once again I doubt you would find it for Motorola.

Sorry for the hate on Motorola's. But I worked for Vodafone for a few years and they are by far the worst mobile brand on the market that is sold by vodafone. They caused me so much stress.

  6. Mercs only look good in black. And thats coming from my Dad who has a black E55 AMG.

After reading tons of reviews about the M3 and a few about the Merc I would pic the Merc. Its something different. But I am not too keen on the front bumper, those little grills annoy me. And I would prefer it if they had the 5.5 Supercharged V8 in the Merc as the 6.3NA is not as quick when comparing other models like the E class AMG. E.g. the 05 model vs the 07 one. 05 is faster.

  7. Oh great. I would love to attend a day like this. The only Audi I have ever driven is the RS6 wagon and sedans which were rental cars for the rental company I worked for in the UK. Awesome machines.

Porsche does a similar thing to this. Its the whole weekend and you get taught by v8supercar drivers. Dad went on it at the start of the year. In Aussie though.

  8. Its also called Grenade duty. It relates to WW2 when a squad members would jump on a grenade to save the rest of the squad if they could not throw it back or get out of the way.

We also use to call these Grenades cock blockers. The ugly protective friend of the hot chick you want to get into. And even if the Hot chick likes you so will this "cockblocker" which destroys any chance. Every hot chick has one when your young.

  9. My flatmate is just finishing his Go-Kart project. Is a racekart frame and driveline with a GSX-RR 250cc motor on it. But he didn't stop there. It also now has a nice trubo on it. He has made his own plenum and pretty much everything else for it too. Was alot of work but he just builds it in his spare time. He has all the tools though. Design engineer for F&P healthcare.

  10. Soundwave is in the movie. He is just very small. lol. No Laserbeak or Ravage though. No Thundercracker or Skywarp. Skyfire would have been cool. Wish Starscream was a little more involved and as arrogant and ignirant as he is in the Cartoon.

Oh man I love Transformers. Lol. I am 26 and still get really excited by them. Made a real impact on us when we were kids. There is nothing like that these days. Feel sorry for the kids.

Does anybody still have their original toys? I still have the full sized Octomus prime but I lost his gun and his arm feel off. I have 3 of the 5 constructercons. Always wanted Starscream. And the two missing constructercons to make Devestator. lol. I could go on forever.

  11. The "Boy Racers" here would laugh and continue on not giving a sh*t. It would be a total waste of money.

There were "Boy Racers" in my Dads day and there will be "Boy Racers" in our childrens day too. They need to learn to control it. Not try and stop something they have no show in hell doing.

Oh BTW. Was talking to a Uni mate today who mentioned the Illegal drags are now going nuts on Weeknights instead of weekend nights and just as many if not more people are attending.

  12. Haha I just went to The Rock's Transformers premier. Was a great movie. They were my childhood heroes along with MacGyver.

But I couldn't help notice the cars that got destroyed. A 740is got crushed. And it looked like an 80's 5 series got run over.

I enjoyed it. Was full of action. Even your Mrs might enjoy it as it is not 100% Transformers related.

  13. Sweet some cool stuff in there.

This is my 180. Drive it every day as my BMW is No.42 for the Race series and is in 1000's of parts but nearly complete. Occasionaly am seen out in the E55 AMG when Dads too lazy to move it.

Also ride my 1981 Trutest. Modded with direction tyres and disc brakes as my shoes wore out. She does 55kph or 58kph with a tail wind. Im going to try for 60kph with a tail wind and no eating for a couple of days.

  14. Well here is a non bias opinion as I love my BMW's but help run the Nissansilvia.co.nz club. I currently have a 96 180SX and was thinking of selling and buying a late model 540. My only reason for doing so is because I have now had 3 180's and want something new. The 540 is pretty much 1 of 4 cars I would even consider selling for. The S15 Spec R is a nice car and mods are extreamly cheap compaired to modding a late model BMW. Maintanence is vurtually non existant as the SR20 is pretty much bullet proof and runs a timing chain rather than a belt. There is very few things that go wrong with S15 bar the interior rattles you occasionaly get. The S15 has no back seat room. Both will no doubt have equal gas consumption due to the way you will drive them. The big V8 allows you to move along quickly at low RPM but the S15 of course is Turbo so you will be on boost. But put your foot down in the V8 and she will use alot more gas in the long run. But you wont drive the BMW in that way.

If you want performance and are looking at moddifying in the future I would get the S15

If you want a very quick cruiser and only plan to do basic mods I would look at the BMW.
