  1. Ill tell you soon. I have looked at retrimming and flocking options. Both are ultimate solutions and in excess of $300 which seems crazy. Decided to buy the paint and do it myself. Worst case I can remove the material and do it properly. The hardest part is getting an even result. The spray can has a really focused spray which makes it hard to get an evenly spread application.

  2. I was wondering if anyone had replaced the material on their rear parcel shelf? Both on the M3 and 530i have gone purple.

I know you can dye them but I dont want to do that.

Maybe someone has had success in respraying?

  3. Im thinking to buy a e92 m3 about mid/late this year but it seems to be abit hard to find a buyers guide for his model. When researching on e46 m3 there was so much information about this model and the huge amounts of faults with this generation, ie sub frame, smg pumps, vanos...etcso with the e92 M3...1. what are the common problems? or known issues?2. what is factory equipment on new zealand new models? and what are optional extra?3. 2010 was the LCI, i know the tail lights changed to LED and the headlight changed, but i dont see any difference?? also idrive was upgraded. Is there anything else?any other insight on this car would be greatthanks

Did you end up buying a V8 and if so would you share your experience for someone who is considering one?

  4. I am looking at a 2011 M3 and have read through your posts. I would really like to know if your opinions have changed towards the later model V8 reliability and what you think of the F80 as a comparison? Also, now that the factory warranty will have expired will a 3rd party warranty cover me enough? Note: work pays for fuel, so thats not an issue.

  5. oh wow that went up way higher than I thought. I guess low km's played a huge factor in the final price. its a shame you couldnt get it after all you've done richard. oh well

Yeah was a shame, my max was 10k. Would have been a great car to add to the collection.

  6. has anyone gone to check this out or know any more information on it? would be interesting to see how much it goes for. could be an amazing buy or could be real lemon given how long its been sitting idle

I not only looked at it but had it inspected and went to he auction to buy it... needed about 2k of work. I bid up to 10500, sold for 11k. Cheap but not a steal.

  7.

It would be good to test them back-to-back and I'd be keen if yours went in before mine. Also happy to tool around helping you do the swap if that's what you meant. It would be worth making sure your tierods aren't seized before you start as you may need gas to get them undone. You'll also want to get new hoses and do the modifications required to use normal worm-drive clamps (http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?124679-Fixed-steering-hose-leak-problem).

I like your suggestion haha. Yeah OK I'll take a look at the link.

  8. May the journey continue with the M3 beast! At least it's in the right hands....given the power and handling of these cars...i'd be tempted to daily an M3, but i guess a weekend car becomes more desireable after a long working week

If I was in Hawkes Bay or similar province then yes. But it's a complete waste in Auckland. I really enjoy cruising in the 530i. Even travelling with the wife I prefer that.
