Where abouts is the ground screw located, do you need to remove the whole cluster ?

My E30 does the same thing, had a mechanic do some work on it and he said that its pretty common on the E30s to do this, i took his word for it so i guess its nothing to worry about.

Sell my old steering rack it works but as title say it is leeking, Leek is coming from the shaft/rack, was leeking out of the boot when it was on my car, It still worked just peeed out a bit of oil when turning If someone know how to fix them or has a seal kit lying aroung it could be an easy fix for you. $20 not sure on postage maybe add another $10

cheers mate hopefully it doesn't have any leaks he said it didn't but it cant be worse than mine squirting fluid out everywhere, just jacked it up this morning so gona try swap it out today.

Thanks everyone for you offers i found one at tasman auto yesterday so ill go with that since its easy for me to just go pick it up, I would like to do this at some stage i figure if i manage to swap the E30 rack with the same then when i come to do the E36 swap ill have a better understanding of what to do, might need to try find someone to help that's done this before. The garage wanted to charge me $500 to pull it out and replace the seals on the rack, i found the 1986 rack for $100 buck so i figured if i can swap it out this weekend and get my recheck done by 28 days then it'll be cheaper and i will have learned a bit of knowledge on swapping the rack since i want to upgrade to an E36 rack ? ( i think thats the one) at some stage. Then hope fully i can rebuild the old one and either sell it or keep for a spear,

Need a replacement steering rack for an e30 325i 1987, failed wof as it is leeking, need to come with steering rack boot also. Please help ! text or call if easier 021403977

Cleaned out the ICV on the E30 today, sanded it back and polished it up, came out quite nice =]

The main key has snapped in half in the ignition of my 325i 87 e30, The WOF man has passed it (this time) any ideas on how to get the other half of the key out of the ignition ?

I don't know too much still learning but could it be the the fuel supply cant keep up when you floor it, fuel filter ? injectors a bit blocked ? just a thought .

I plan to change it every 3 months.There is a sticker stating timing belt was done at 200xxx km and has currently done 220xxx as for the tensioner im not too sure if it was done at the same time or not. Good idea abut the breaks i might do this when i have a spear weekend (there like gold when you have a misses and kid hope she doesn't see this) I know i need to bleed the breaks they are working okay currently but when i did the clutch slave before i started the fulid was lower than low and think it got a bit of air in the system so thats on the list, i might do it all at the same time. I've just brought a 1987 E30 325i picked it up for $2000, Has had the top re-built just replaced clutch slave cylinder and figured i might as well do a oil change, I want to look after this car and was wondering peoples thoughts on oil filters, Usually i just go Repco or SCA and get a standard RYCO filter, What your thoughts on these vs a K&N oil filter or other performance brands, I don't drive like a hooligan on police 10/7 or thrash it around the corners, just cruising to work and home each day. Also what other thing would people suggest replacing after buying a new car, I've got spark plugs and a fuel filter to install at some stage Thoughts??

Did you find it pretty good any noticeable difference, I have a pod filter and im contemplating if I make a cold air box and put the pod on or just get a standard K & N to drop in

I know you can buy them online but was just wondering if anybody knows if they are sold in store some where, I live in nelson so we don't have too many performance shops but I haven't really had a good look around. Cheers

Bit new here hope im doing this right !! Replaced the slave cylinder on my e30 clutch last night, Getting the slave off was the easy part then i found that the connection to the slave from the hydraulic line was seized most likely been on there for 20+ years, used some LOCTITE freeze and release This stuff is awesome with some help from the vice grips it came right off !! Then after getting it all back together (sorry no pics of this part) i found i had a flat battery so off to work with my make shift universal battery charger and she should be full of life by tonight

Damm wish i looked at this earlier spent about 30min last night pumping the clutch and ramming a golf club between it and the seat and lots of back and forth, i might go get one anyway don't think i got all the air out, Cheers !

Need a new clutch line for my E30 im replacing the slave cylinder so figured might as well do this too, Anyone know of braided clutch lines , if not OEM is fine

Cheers man i got one from BNT today didnt come with the push rod but should be able to use the old one ! hard part will be trying to bleed the system by myself lol
