Yeah a guy from my hockey team last year has one, manual too. Does a pizza run in it.

Hey! I'd be confident of taking auto 320s off the line, dunno how long I'd stay in front though, maybe to 60 kays?. A guy at school has an auto E36 318ti which I wouldn't mind pulling up next to him at a stop light to see what happens.Mine is manual though so it is not too bad, but the hills of Wellington makes it go through gas qute a lot.

Ouch. I can get my dads Maxima to Hamilton from Wellington on 3/4 tank, umm, around a 65L tank I think, never tried it in my 318 yet, but I'd put money down on it been much less.

I run on 96, never tried 91 so wouldn't know if theres a difference. A few months ago, NZ Autocar did a dyno with a Hyundai Tuburon between the two, and found 96 gave (off the top of my head) 7 more kw and 15 more nm, and concluded that people thinking they are saving by buying 91 actually aren't, as they will need to use more gas to compensate for the power loss (that is pretty obvious when you think about it, but I'm sure most people haven't thought of that).

NZ new It needs a new distributer cap which apparantly is about $150 retail, but haven't tried the wreckers yet. Destruction derby was a few weeks ago at Temarua (in Welly) and a couple of these were in there. They didn't last due to blown radiators, but the bodies were in good shape.

E30 is still the best though

W116 Merc 280S for 350 bucks. Needs a bit of ignition work to get it running smoothly again but apart from some rust, its not too bad

I'm sure they could give the similar Falcons and Commodores of that era a hiding, all round

http://www.autopoint.co.nz/marketplace/Use...o=1&chkRows=500 6 spd manual If I had 25 grand I know where it would be going

Thats f**king awesome, but that Volvo wagon should have had an old man in there, or a house wife/mother. Look at the understeer on that green E36 sedan!
-
Yeah. Im hoping they arent going to stick a V8 in the next one (from the factory).Any one that would change the enginein an M3 needs a bullet through the head anyway
-
Whats so 'rice' about a f**king skyline, supra or 200SX etc. etc. engine in a bimmer? f**king nothing Ive seen just as many riced bimmers as civics
-
I sorta agree. A Jap engine wouldnt be my first choice for a bimmer, or Euro cars (SR20 in Morris minor wouldnt be bad), then again, from what you said earlier, I doubt you've driven any good jap engines
-
Wheres it rusty? Apparantly, up and under the battery gets it bad, one reason why I didnt end up with a 320i this time last year.
-
I just bought it, should get here around the 26 November
-
Yeah, its around US $35, but they also have a deal of the manual and a BMW Enthuiasts Companion book which I will probably get. Should not be more than NZ $150, including postage
-
Thanks a lot, Im checking it out now That seems like a good deal as the ones at Repco were up to $80, for a Toyota Hilux, and as low as $40, for a Cortina
-
Im looking for one for an E30. Ive been to Repco, my old man tried to get one through the local Holden dealer but they dont do them anymore (that would be the makes Gregory (I think) and Haynes) and I tried a 2nd hand bookshop. They had them all for bloody Holden Toranas, Datsuns etc. etc. but no Bimmers So does anyone know where to get one from before the internet? I think that since the Holden dealer couldnt find one, I might have to order off the net.
-
Have you tried a wrecker? I dunno how much they would go for though. My one doesnt have p/s either, which was different when I first started driving, but I only find it a problem in parking lots. I heard from one person they are a bit of a bitch to fit though
-
I didnt drain it, just a refil. Anyway, I put some more anti freeze in this morning and its gone back to normal now. It would have been an air lock, as I probably didnt bleed it completely yesterday. Thanks anyway
-
So I put some anti-freeze and water in my E30 today and took it for a short 5-10 min drive, and the temp gauge rose between 3/4 and red, while it is usually on 1/2. I had to get home after that, but left it to sit for about half an hour. Well on my way home, the gauge was normal, then I got stuck in traffic and saw it rising and falling around the 3/4 mark. i havent driven it since. Could this be signs of a blown head gasket, or craked cylinder head? Im gunna get my old man to get it checked out on Monday

Yeah, Ive got it too, water from the tail light running down to form a pool where the jack sits. Its a c**t. Now I've got to figure how I'm going to apply the sealant. Its sitting in my glove box.
