Pulling onto the motorway using tiptronic is quite cool, but it needs an extra ratio as its pick up is as slow as sh*t in second. Thats nearly 90 in 1st

With the old man. Base model XT, with 7km on the clock. It didn't even have plates on it. Interior is nice, however it would turn to sh*t will a couple of hundred thousand kays put on it. Engine is strong but gets rough past 4500, but it sounds alright, f**king big too. Rides real nice and soaks up the bumps unlike his Maxima, and the E30 is no comparison (18 years old). Steering well weighted too, and direct.

I like Honda's. Me too, however...

I think a black M3 vert lives on Bidwill st (off Taranaki) with a black Z4 too. I walk past it some mornings.

Ohh, yeah mobile ones. I though you meant fixed. sh*t, those vans are every where.

Na theres no speed camera there. I take that route to Island Bay every time. If there is, it must be hidden. And I was meaning the road where the tennis centre is, and passing lane. Real esay to get caught going over the limit as it is so wide. That way up to the wind turbine (Todman and Mitchell) has houses so bugga that, other wise it would be alright. Narrow too.

60 grand??? Thats RX8 and 350Z territory edit: and HSV Maloo range too. What else at that price is gunna get you nearly 400hp?
-
I didn't know it was this big. Thats the 4.6 used in the Mustang, and the 5.0 which was just dropped from the Falcon.

They adverstise in NZ Performance Car at local drag meets 30 bucks to race your 'import'. Dunno if that applies to Euro cars though. That 2.4 tonne truck in my sig will smoke my 318 though. Sleeper

Going up Brooklyn Hill. Try and hit the limiter in second before the long corner (before the passing lane finishes) at around 80-90 kmh at night time of course. Bell road that runs sorta parallel to Brooklyn Hill isn't bad too. If I'm going from Jville to town, I might take the Makara way (night time too), but last time I did that, I apparantly burned 1/4 tank of gas in the old mans car. If your are heading towards Jville, theres this real good corner for a hand brake turn (not that I've tried it), going up hill. If you don't know what one I mean, take a drive down there and you'll know when you see it. Its f**king perfect. I've already learnt my lesson though (got caught up Brooklyn Hill-69kmh) but you don't need to go over the limit on the Makara/Ohariu Valley roads.

I haven't, but I've read that my 318 will do low 17s

Never underestimate the mighty 3.8

Actually, in the Autotrader, theres a red auto 320 coupe going for 7 grand. Its got the alloys, CD etc. Looks f**king good too.

Geez, I know. 2nd hand g/b for a 10 year old Maxima- 2 grand, and a grill, that cheap bit of plastic that sits up the front- upwards of 300 bucks. My M10 has a chain btw

Yeah its on the main drag to the beach. It is not definate yet, but I do wanna go.

Isn't that CVT? No - absolutely nothing like it.. its a true sequencial transmission. Normally they only have one input shaft, the AUDI one is special. CVT is constantly variable transmission - its terrible - its essentially infintely variable gear, there are pre-set ratios so it appears the transmission is changing. But, if you floor it in a CVT car.. the torque convertor stalls and then the transmission then alters the gear ratio to keep the car in the power band. Its a great "idea" however I haven't seen ONE CVT car that drives properly - very jerky at low rpm, very jerky at low speed, very jerky slowing down blah blah. Thats Honda, Rover, Nissan - all seem terrible - then again they are probably all the same gearbox. OK. I heard one Audi take off which would have had a CVT, sounded like it had one gear, just sitting at the same engine speed even though it was picking up speed. I wanna drive one though.I think DAF started the CVT scene back in the '60s

I might take a drive up the coast on Sunday and check out the sprints.

I got confused. Last weeks paper had an M5 in there, I think it was at Shellys but not 100% sure. Last weeks Autotrader has one in there too, but it isn't in wgtn. The one in the Autotrader is going for 90, I think the one from wgtn was over 100grand.

Last weeks paper had a E39 M5 there. 90 grand I think

Hey! I'd be confident of taking auto 320s off the line, dunno how long I'd stay in front though, maybe to 60 kays?. A guy at school has an auto E36 318ti which I wouldn't mind pulling up next to him at a stop light to see what happens.Mine is manual though so it is not too bad, but the hills of Wellington makes it go through gas qute a lot. I'd take you off the line in mine - I think a few people on here can vouch it would win I said auto 320s. I'ld put my 320i against your 320 anyday!, oh, BTW I found out how to make a BMW 318 really go fast!!Drive to the top of a car park building and push it off... simple eh? provides two solutions: 1/ that is all they are good for. & 2/ You can now claim on your insurance and purchase a 6cly BMW or a gay Honda if you feel that way inclined! TheDuck Haha, funny, dickhead. If I WANTED a fast car I would have got a V8. Or I'll just pick up the old mans car, which will blow the doors of yours anyway. Yeah, 320s are faster than 318s, but they still arent that fast. f**k I'd take my 5spd 318 over my aunts 320 auto (notice how the women go for autos, hmm, like you).

Mmmmm E34. I saw a black one with E39 M5 rims on the other day

Haha yeah, watching the stig behind the wheel of that thing made me laugh. Audis seem so boring too, well, compared to the bimmer counterpart.
