keep the wheels and instead lower it and colour code the skirts!

any courier company should be able to do it, just make sure each tyre CLEARLY has the intended address on it and you get a track and trace number so you can get proof of delivery. Also make sure you get a 'signature required' courier ticket, this will give you a proof of delivery. Hope this helps
Does anyone know which transport company that can transport a pair of tyres from Auckland to Wellington?
Do the tyres have to be prepared specially for the transport company or can they just pick them up as they are.
Thanks for any advice.

haha yeah its a little sideline of mine. I have had 4 people wanting to buy the wheels for their own e30's. One guy offered me $1500 + 2 bucket seats, but the wheels took me 6 months to find!!
saw that car on trademe and thought....sh*t thats kool

alright once and for all, here it is, 17 x 9 at 30ET work on the back of my 88 E30 4 door. Admittedly running 'stretched 215/40/17's. Slight guard rolling also needed. Wheels are actually 35ET but needed a 5mm spacer to clear rear spring plates. 35ET will work but when the car is jacked up they catch on the spring plates. 17x8 at 25Et works mint, again wheels were originally 35ET but am running a 10mm spacer with longer studs. I just wanted 'the look' so please no debates about tyre performance etc. It's not as if the old 320 has a truck load of power. If you like it wicked - if not keep your opinions to yourself
The car has been lowered as well so camber tucks the wheels in.

He doesn't want big giant ultra heavy chomes. Chrome belongs on toilet fittings and 70's and early 80's cars.
But it you can get decent looking wheels then he might be interested. No American styled junk though.
That's cool, we have plenty of silver, Hyper silver, shadow chrome or black wheels in stock, send me a pm and I will send pics if you like.

same stud pattern but different offset; ie late model commodore wheels will NOT work. Offset usually between 15-25, if he needs wheels give me a call, we have heaps currently in stock, and are direct importers = save $$$!!

problem found! It was a small split in the bottom heater hose, now I just have to find one!

a common mistake a lot of people make is leaving the handbrake on and the car in park. If you put the car in neutral, and release the handbrake, then unbolt the shock the springs come out in less than 2 minutes. It literally is a 10 minute job for the rears!

hey guys, just gave in to the masses and bought a 1988 E30 320i, 1 nz owner and only 104km. I was driving it back to home the other day and noticed the temperature gauge going up to 3/4 when I put my foot down and then back to half way while cruising. I put it on the hoist at work and noticed that coolant had been coming out (puddle on the floor). It has obviously only been recently flushed as the coolant is bright green and very clean. I am pretty sure that it is not a split hose as the leak is not that bad, seems to be dripping off the crossmember. I am wondering if it is the thermostat that has failed and the coolant is coming out through the overflow. Any help would be appreciated.

ok guys a 9" wide wheel at 25et will work on the back of a 1988 E30 F/L will prob get away with a 20et as well but 15et will rub,
on the front an 8" will work anywhere from 25 to 15et. Hope this helps everybody!

putting 17x8 17x9 onto my E30 today, have had to run bolt on adaptors due to offset of wheels, will post pics and let everyone know the ins and outs tomorrow hopefully.

yeah totally gutted for Scottie, we were watching it live on the net, you have to feel for the man though. I would be spiting tacks at the team managers, how is it that both cars (Dixon & Wheldon) ran out of gas?
:banghead:
*sniff sniff* - I think I smell a conspiracy in here somewhere

a mate of mine had a similar problem in his E30 - turned out to be a cracked air intake hose between the airbox and imtake plenum. It may not be what your problem is but it's easy enough to check

Hi Marty
great to meet you on Saturday and have a look over the 'beast'! Great to hear that the tyres are working nicely - i never had any doubts
.
How did you get on with the rim swap?
cheers
Johno

sorry mate don't know whether or not I made myself clear, BUT I a, NOT advocating a 215/40 or 225/40 on a 9" wide rim. was suggesting that if you keep the same size rim size(ie 8") then this would be the tyre size to go for.

hi guys,
i just went to bmw dealer yesterday, i was told that the offset of x5 wheels are way to high for an e46! what do you guys think?
Do you know what year vehicle the X5 wheels are off? From memory the factory ET for the 18" X5 wheels are 48 which is very high. I think even though the offsets of the wheels are very similar between an E46 and an X5, the width of the X5 wheel will cause you problems and hit the inside struts at the front, they should bolt onto the rear no problems though.

always had a soft spot for the RS Audi's, that car looks horny!

Hey,
Im planning on buying d2 adjustable coilovers for my e39 520i in a couple of weeks and was wondering if anybody on this site has them in there e39? Or just any coilovers.
Cause i was wondering how low you can sit the car with them in. As that is the reason im getting them to put my car on its arse, because ive got B'n'G superlows with 2 coils cut off the backs and the tires are still only just in the guards. Any help would be apprectiated. Cheers
you will have a lot of fun getting to the rear suspension
from memory the whole rear seat and parcel tray have to come out, I would put aside most of the day. How much lower do you want to go? I would have thought that the tyre just inside the guard would be a perfect height.
-
looking at buying some wheels, they are 18x8 front and 18x9 rear, have been told offset is 35, will the rears fit all good with no scraping? they are to go on an e36, also what size tires should i be running?
thanks
Hey mate. 9's at 35 et will definitely rub on back, even if you go to a 245/35/18, offset is too low for E36. generally 215/40/18's or 225/40/18's ar ethe way to go.

Most definitely the real thing, just a shame I didn't have my camera with me. Trying to run it in for the dealer release I presumeAre you serious? are they pre-release models? like not entirely the real thing? surely they cant be here this early?

BRAND NEW M3 with 17k's on the clock.
It's supposed to be kept quiet but apparently there are already 2 in the country! The Driver (who shall remain nameless) says he has to 'tootle' around on the quiet for at least 600kms, running the car in.

Hi Cain
currently have in stock
Dunlop SP3000. Dunlop Sport Maxx, and Goodyear Eagle F1's.
3pedals is right, the sport maxx is definitely the pick of the tyres, but they are all very similar in terms of performance, it really comes down to personal preference. Each have their own merits and downsides. Let me know if you would like me to quote them for you
Cheers

I used to have one of these too. Not as worked as yours but was still a fun little car, surprised a few people between traffic lights............ good luck with the sale!
-
you beat me to it, I was going to ask if you had checked the studs.
If the studs are too long they catch on the handbrake cable. It's a common problem on Euro vehicles as they run wheel studs rather than wheel nuts.
glad to hear that it is sorted now.
Loose Lowering Springs E36
in Brakes, Suspension & Steering

sounds like whoever lowered it previously took out the rubber 'caps' which sit between the spring and car, a wrecker should have these look almost like a mexican sombrero. If you put these in it should fix your problem, and don't stress you don't have the wrong springs. Some people take these 'sombreros' out to make the car a little lower, should be an easy fix.
