  1. I have recently completed it on my car and there's more positive than negative in my opinion if you are looking at doing coilovers etc as well. Pro's Better brake options cheaper, more wheel options and 1 piece style 5 16x8's can be had for $150 , Coilovers don't need welding, spares are easier to come across and cheap. Con's Still needs to be certed but not an issue if you are doing other bits as well, Huge amount of misinformation around geometry and what parts fit etc, add $500 on top of your budget. I ended up running Front: E36 M3 evo Arms, SLR adjustable control arm bush set, E36 knuckles, E36 fit coilovers with custom valving and 7kg spring into a E30 adjustable top hat. Rear: Z3 2.8 subframe with camber and castor adjustment plates, Z3 arms, E30 Med case LSD, E30 axles, E30 rear adjustable shock and spring with adjuster. I also raised the subframe 22mm to give me more camber and castor correction with the car lowish I am running the standard brakes from E36 front and Z3 rear but looking into retrofitting something better.
  2. www.wheelspacers.co.nz Give Dave an email. Has just landed a lot of BMW 15 and 25mm Hubcentric spacers and adapters. He should be able to get a set or 2 to you for saturday
  3. The kit they advertise on Trademe as 2dr/4dr is 2 door complete or 4 door without the door pods... The front and rear aren't to bad but require work, the side skirts are a nightmare.
  4. I am in the process of fitting one.... If you are happy to spend a few weekends with a grinder and glassing it back up they are great for the $, but be prepared to do a lot of work if you want it to look mint. I am going for 95% good which has required cutting bits out of the top on both front and back bumpers and re glassing. Side skirts will be a whole new story but its cheap so you just need to know what your getting into before buying. If your in wellington you can have a look at where I am upto.
  5. Yeah, fronts gunna be raised an inch or so but am prepared to take it carefully and repairing glass from time to time isn't an issue. Its also never going to be a show car just a bit of fun, also currently have a fairly flat driveway....
  6. Sun finally came out and gave me a chance to start on the rear bumper. Tow bar removed and rear test fitted, looks like a few more nights glassing and sanding to get a good fit but nowhere near as far off as I thought it would be. Skirts are going to be the challenge.
  7. Haven't updated for a while but not alot has changed... We spent a weekend doing driveshaft loops and the last few bits for cert. Now just waiting for opportunity to get the car in. In the mean time i picked up a fibreglass mtech 2 replica kit, knowing it would need alot of work to fit I started today. Front wasn't to bad but left a gap on either side so i pulled out the glassing kit and had a play, heres a preview, will put up more as i go.

  11. No Sorry, Part Number is 82 26 9 405 373. Here is a picture of the exact one:
  12. Old stock, thought I would give you guys the option before it goes on trademe. RRP $140incl. Would take $50 + freight. Will fit all E39 sedans incl M5. Picture is stolen off the web but it is the same mat and still in the plastic wrap.
  13. Taken a while to get round to it but here's a link to my photobucket and a video of it running... http://s1274.photobucket.com/user/sr20e30/media/MOV012_zps1d62a8aa.mp4.html Sorry for the quality its taken on a phone. Also acquired a set of Smiley's so spent the morning cleaning up the headlight and front body wiring and installing the new lights.
  14. Cheers, The panel and paint is pretty(very) rough so I will plan something for after the car is on the road, but want to keep it looking as sleeper as possible. Have had a tune done as it sits with no mods to the engine and was 175kw at the rear wheels. To get any more I need to expose the intercooler more and have it make more noise.... or upgrade parts, not things I want to do at the moment. When suits you to have a look? PM me you number and I will flick you a text
  15. Drove the car home today. Few small things to sort for cert but all the majors are done. Will get a video of running this weekend.
