surely any vehicle no matter what the propulsion would have airbags in the future . How will this be managed.
-
so what happens when a car gets to say 40 yrs old and has the same air bags. I have trouble with the car manufacturers saying its the supplier's fault and now its buyer beware. Even if its not Takata. this is a safety device. not a gearbox, diff, motor, tyres. etc. In the aircraft industry a world wide bulletin goes out every time there is a fault found and those aircraft can be grounded until fixed.

he's still in cloud 9.

I would like to think it would too. but a stock standard s50b30 is 217kw @7100
-
345kw @7000rpm

fortunately I drive a company van and is replaced every 3 years but that's not the point here. My comment was about the degradation of the airbags over time. even a minor accident that sets off the airbags may kill you defeating the whole purpose of them. Its not just the driver. Its everyone in the car that gets affected .

And I care how much... 000 % when faced with a truck that's crossed the road and my options are hit the truck with out dated airbags or new ones , I'll take the new ones. If that means that older car are made obsolete then so be it . safty safte saftey safety got there.

so why aren't they replaced when the car gets to a certain age when going for a WOF eg every 10 yrs.

If there's really competition in the market "takata' would have to show that their product(airbag) would deploy without the shards hitting the occupants in the seat. To do this TESTS would have had to be preformed. Had this been done MAYBE their product would have been shown up as faulty and the car manufacturer dealt with some one else

this is what happens when you chase the cheapest to the bottom . Everyone goes there. The company has/had no chance for R and D and everyone else goes out of business because they are the cheapest. Now there a is problem with airbags in cars 40 million + at the last count, Are you driving one. !!!!!??????

anyone had any experience with Czech Republic headlights , the wiring. As in the pictures the insulation is falling off and the wiring is much smaller than the genuine on the left. long story made short, I'm after one for the right side. I'll place an add in WTB soon

I went and had a look at this car. I did toy with the notion of slapping down a wad of notes on it. But won't because I don't want to sleep on the couch anymore. Its had all its services and looks well maintained , he's had it for 6years. He reckons its the oil pump that gave out, who knows, if your hand with a spanner its still sitting at 10k

And don't ya love the way a freshly built engine smokes and smell on first startup
-
my bad, I should have said "connect" not mount, to the engine. As I can't fine a suitable spot.
-
are you running a oil pressure gauge and where are you mounting it. (best place).
