Are there any issue's known about on a e46 330i Coupe? I'm considering one with 125000km's on it. Just thought i would ask how reliable they are in general, ie radiators popping or fracturing, interior bit breaking or failing? Cheers

Would have done full mechanical swap not only engine, i mean even interior and wiring loom and all that.

yeah i know all that glen, but it's not an issue i can get the cambelt kits for $400 including metal impellar water pump and thermo stat. and that including shipping and paying more now for the fact that the kiwi dollars is weaker to the US Dollar. Also although Audi claim 5 years or 120000km's, believe me do not let your audi cambelt go past 85000kms on a belt. seen it many a times. I guess it's also easy that i have all the dagnostic tools for the Audi/VW and pretty much know most of the audi/VW 1.8T variants of this engine type

ok. i just dont what a 4dr tbh. So more trying to gauge what would be my best bet to go down with. Also i cant be bothered changing auto to manual. Swapping a manual lower powered car for alternative engine would be preferable. What would a 325is that appears to be in very good condition be worth that has had a 2.7 conversion done? Around the $11000 - $12000ish mark?

good points every one has been raising. I guess most focal point for me would be upgrading the brakes of the car. But i guess if i dont like driving an 318is around and was after more go. So i'm more looking at long term.

hmm i guessed as much, thought i would get peoples opinions that actually own these kind of cars. What if the original 318IS gear was provided to the a potential purchaser? Would the same still apply?

i thought when the no cutting rear parcel tray law came in around 2000ish, cars that had it already done before that time where passed, but any car that had it done after that time where failed due to reasons mentioned above>? Or are all cars now or should they be failed if the rear parcel tray has been cut?

How much would a genuine E30 318IS devalue if i was to replace it with M325/325is running gear and additional parts? would the car be worth less after the transplant or would it still be worth around the same? Your thoughts on this would be awesome, Thanks

Thanks for this info, yeah TBH i would prefer a MTech 2 too. or a car just like SIR E30's. Any idea of what Will is really after for his car or what it is worth? Also who/where and what cost would an MTech 2 Kit be worth? Aftermarket or BMW new. Also what parts as it looks like the Tech2 Kit has a few more parts then that of the Tech1 kit?

is 27K a good price for what? The BMW - i personally do not know, it was an import too. The Audi ended up being almost 9K less. or a little more, they did not buy purely on price point but more value for money and what they got for it. The BMW also would have needed all four tyres replaced with in the next 3000km's. So i personally felt that car was overpriced.
