We have bought a HM35 300RX Stagea. VQ30DD engine, 192kw & 324Nm. gooes great & lots of space. Hi Cain, you were right! I'd love a 5 series estate - one day Yes indeed. Bring cash It's not all bad...plan ahead. You do need one big car to fit all the gear but its a lifestyle call. We aren't sad. BNR34 GT-R will come one day when the boy can climb in & click his own seatbelt!

The truly annoying thing for me is these assholes believe this sort of thing doesn't cost us, 'the insured'.This clearly illustrates that the no good, jobless, f-wits are as dumb as they look by failing to understand our yearly premiums increase both when we make a claimand due to the rising crime rate in general and excess's for stolen and damaged property cost us too. In this case it should be free glass replacment FTW ?!

Yep, an M3 bumper is in the pipeline. There's quite a lot of choice though...I have to research this some more as there's some excellent lips, and different AM bumpers available. Need to take a good look at a Msport one too. Got a beautiful MOMO GT-R gear knob inside too

I have a quote from Bayfair tyres for the fitment of Koni struts (dont know the model details yet) and 30mm lowered springs (dont know which brand at this stage), $1850. Little sundries like the top hats, bushes etc. and a wheel alligment on top of that price and there's 2k+ and a bloody good job by technicians who will stand by their work. Whack a set of shocks & springs in yourself and sure you may have no problems or in 6 months it may be shyte. You wont have the extra parts at hand so those worm old bushes and dodgy old brackets etc. will go right back on, little details get overlooked etc... I'm with 3pedals here - the quote looks fine. You've got yourself a quote for a complete suspension overhaul performed by an experienced operator (hopefully)...suspension is bloody important and IMHO it's well worth paying for quality service.

Sa-weeet. Scored 4 seated. Me & Sharon + the two higest bidders - jk . Thanks Grant!

Great thread. I must get A into G and repair our glovebox *stupid E36 glovebox* Our OBC is still working but no longer responds to pressing the indicator stalk Nice job mate. The front lip sounds interesting.

Bahahaha! everyone hates these lights, lol. I agree to a point - they are kinda similar to the altezza style tails that I also dislike but the OEM type with nice new, clear lenses & angel eye rings are beautiful and we'd have gladly spent the extra for them but the stupid corner lights are only semi clear, look tacked on, & don't integrate if ya know what I mean...oh well...they work well at least, Sharon loves them and that will aid me in getting some quality suspension, & one day I'll upgrade the brakes, flywheel/clutch & no doubt some engine breathing so that's a fair trade off PS: I'm thinking of some eyebrows to hide them a little

Took some pics this avo to show the new headlights, 35% tints & colour coded bump strips. Lowering 30mm or so will happen once we settle on the right combination of dampers & springs, early in the new year some time. I know some don't like these due to them being non OEM looking but Sharon wanted them & I reckon they look ok. There's a new custom muffler down there. Subtle as hell but with a warm note. I think an M3 front bumper would go nicely...

We have a friend with a black CLS55 AMG. That thing hauls right up my GT-R's ass (before my new turbos that was ) How does the new 63 feel having less torque but more power? MB are in a league of their own building uber torque monster sedans like these - well the Forced Induction V8 & V12 cars anyway.

Deff. go the E36 and make it a 6 cylinder, dog. C180 = pos.

Nice indeed

Ya deffinatly don't wanna be putting replicas on a real M car!

Welcome Scott. Nice wheels mate and how you like that engine? I've not long ago bought my first BMW too - a 98 E36 328i 5spd and have had nothing but good times from her...

E36 Shock absorber & Spring combo...
madandy replied to madandy's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Cheers guys. Why did you choose H&R springs rather than the matching Bilstien springs? I've been looking at Bilstiens on Ebay as the best prices I've found so far are on there...yet to contact Bimmersport sponsors for information though I have seen local suppliers asking well over a grand just for the shocks - perhaps one will read this thread and post some info? We only have standard anti roll bars, and I will look into these sooner or later Cheers Andy -
SO there's a fair bit of info on various combinations of shock absorbers & spring on here and the www itself! I'd like to hear from guys/girls that have upgraded their shocks and springs to assess what may be the best all round compromise. We're after a brand new set of shocks and some springs to provide improved pitch & roll resistance, retention of most of the ride quality & a livable ride height as we've had plenty of fun in the past with lowered cars and our GT-R is plenty low enough for three cars thanks We're not trying to make a Touring car here... Many are using Bilstien, a product I'm very familiar with and some use Koni, another brand I respect. There are several options for spring manufacturer and I'm looking for the one with best overall ride quality with similar ride height drop as M-spec springs give. Hell maybe I should get M-spec springs! SO what have you got, hows the ride/handling compromise, are you happy with ride height, damping performnance of your shocks etc...?

12wkw? got a chart. I'd be very interested to see the torque curve

Where is the location where the cars are lined up against the rock wall? Nice donut too

It's all good. P11 GXE features the horrible breathless low port De engine - hardly the benchmark U13 Bluebird...what can I say It was all in the Paid members section anyway *slaps own head* Water under the bridge now mate peace Andy

We're getting a muffler custom made for us at Ultra Tuff Mufflers at the Mount. They do race car systems and fabrication work and their products are good quality. Julian at BM Autobahn advised us to replace the "...restrictive muffler and remove the cats..." fit mandrel bends and fit a twin in/out muffler. I dunno much about moddifying BMW's but he said the 328i headers were ok so they can stay and we'll just smooth the system with better pipe...mostly for sound anyway as I'm loath to lose too much of the low down grunt this engine has

Apology received most graciously JJS. Thank you. You must have had one of the 1.8L cooking models or a crook one for which I offer you my condolences! HERE would be a nice place to offer your kind words... A smoothing of the waters, interclub style if you like cheers Andy

I've been a member of the New Zealand Primera car Club since September 2002...still am due to all the friends I have on there and my fondness for the English designed and built Primera...they don't like being insulted any more than BMW owners do. After being in love with BMW through the eighties and early nineties [Group A hay days] and driving a couple of the better E30 models...323i Msport and 325i Msport they were what I aspired to own...reality hit and the P10 and later P11 Primera was the best car for my money that even came close to what I expected from a BMW...then I drove a few E36 BMW's and decided to keep my Japanese car for a while longer... JJS has obviously forgotten 1999 and 2000 when Primeras handed every manufacturer in the BTCC back their own asses. JJS, come to a NZPCC track day and show your ignorance please...My last Primera would own most of the E30 race series cars in full street trim + a set of slicks. There's always one... Any way..back on topic...everyone else showed plenty of maturity and I love my 328i peace Andy

Ya forgot Seth Efrican imports... Jap Import GT-R's are a compulsory re-build in most cases...as are Jap Import E36's with 'those' auto boxes...I'd base my purchase on spec level, service records and condition. Sometimes that means NOT an import, but not always.

That's top quality my freind...very well done :thumb:
