I put a stage 2 tune on a my '16 330i using MG Flasher. Getting ENET to work was... Challenging. But it's easy compared to boosting an M3 :D
Highly recommended.

Honestly, just putting it out there..... but the photos on your listing arent doing it any favours if it is actually tidy. First impressions mean a lot to people that arent local to view.
I'm hardly a photographer nor have much spare time. But you're right. Maybe I should hit Atta up

I had a ride a few years back now but since then it I think it sat in storage for a while as he had a few issue getting it reliable I think. Sounds like he has got it all sorted now though. Pm Atta he probably knows more than I do.
Mmm not quite, it went into my grandmothers garage while I travelled SE Asia. The only reliability issues were around the stock clutch and the sump breather, which were fixed pretty easily.
You could buy the Green one for 15K and buy a turbo kit from VAC and end up with a 3.2 in good condition for the same price.
10 grand to turbo an M3? L-O-L. And then you're implying that my car is not in good condition... These type of know-it-all ignorant comments are exactly why I don't visit here any more

Aluminium preferred but anything is better than wood right now.

Keen on some parts if it is being dismantled

PM me in a month if this doesn't sell

It's kind of cool... I'd buy a decent E36 widebody in a heartbeat, shame this car comes nowhere near close to pulling it off, 10 points for idea, 0 points for execution.

Guess you better tell BMW to stop making these new turbo engines then .Supercharging is the way to go for the E46 M3 if you don't want to lose drivability - also lot more reliable than turbo charging.
Having had a FI M car for 18 months: get ready for some wallet hurt (especially since you're E46!). Glenn is 100% right. Budget about 50% more than what you think it will cost, and a second car would be advisable for the first 12 months. Saying that, I'd do it all again

Congrats on the new job! Hope you find the right buyer, it's one of a kind that's for sure.

Thanks for the dyno, dispels my worries about my dyno numbers being inflated by the tuner.

Awesome stuff! Mind PM'ing me prices/sources? I'm in desperate need of a brake system overhaul before the next track day .

Alright, thanks. Sorry for thread hijacking .Hey man I tried mine last night and it doesnt do that aye. It starts up instantlly without me even waiting for a few seconds...
-
G4, but I'm told it happens on all Link ECUs. It's hard to describe exactly what happens, but if I put the key into the 2nd position (before ignition) and wait a few seconds it starts up perfect upon ignition. But if I jump in and instantly turn on the ignition it stops half way thru and sits there for a few seconds then starts up normally. Just wondering if it happens to other people or it's a tuner bug.Haha umm not that I know of aye man i have noticed the last 5 days the car is running rather rich on light throttle could be a leak somewhere though? As far as that startup issue I dont ever start my car instantly anyway bud I wait till I hear the fuel pump purge. Im about to go start the car anyway so ill let ya know
p.s are you running G3 or G4?
Not a major issue, but it's one of those little things that add up . Otherwise, Link ECUs are great value for money .

Luke, while on the subject of Links and BMW motors do you have any anoyances? I get this PITA problem when you turn the ignition on and have to wait a few seconds for the ECU to boot up before the car will start, I've been told "it's a Link thing"... Pisses me off, like if I ever need to get away in a hurry or stall in heavy traffic it takes aaaages to get going .

Awesome turnout/cars, really gutted to have missed it .

That's absolutely fanatasic, nice way to represent boosted bimmers!

Very nice, e39's are amazing.

Where are you? Pics are a must .Thanks for the feed back/info guys. My M3 has covered approx 6,000kms since being boosted to 8psi with no problem what so ever. I was hoping to find a definitive answer to how much boost these engines (S50B30) can contain with a decent tune (No Det. correct A/F) before i decided to possibly elevate the boost to 10psi on the stock engine.
-
It's ALL in the tuning. I'm running 8psi (it can hit 9 when it's cold), and the tuners say I could put a little more through. It also depends how agressive your tune is. Anything beyond that and you're looking at internal work. A thicker headgasket has been well discouraged by many people, and changing the CR will pretty much ruin the engine (to me anyway).

Very nice photos. But who has the videos?

Did it not fit?i have this if you want to turbo it

Are you going to the June 2nd track day?

Looked at this car today, intending to buy the M5. It's really in rough shape, even the wheel caps are totally destroyed. You think the dealer would replace them at a cost of 40 dollarydoos. The SMG paddles missing off the steering wheel stand out like dogs bollocks. Little wonder it hasn't sold for several months.
Thanks to other members who saved me from buying the e39, this forum finally helped me 😁
