  1. So anyway, I got the car back today... It's so sad I have to wait at least 500km before I can put any load on the new clutch/fw/pp :(. I've already stalled it about 50 times because the slip range is about 0.1cm, feels like I'm learning how to drive a manual again :(. The new flywheel has made the idle sound grunty though :D. Videos of no traction and me losing my license to follow...

  2. $1400 isnt that bad I don't think??

Let us know when you have it all running...possibly take some more vids? :P

Yeah it's pretty cheap, 1/3 of the price of a full replacement. I'll be taking a few vids that's for sure :P.

Nice one!! Will be good to see what it can really do on the track now, now.... whens our next track day?

There's one on the 28th isn't there? I probably wont be able to go as I wont have the new brakes and the clutch needs at least 500km stop-start use first :(. The one after that I'll be in with a grin!

  3. Just a wee update in case anyone cares...

I was using the standard clutch in my car for a while, it survived great... For about 30 seconds.

I put off getting a new clutch for a while as I knew it was going to cost a fair bit of money and mean no car for a month or so. But I finally bit the bullet and sent the standard clutch up to Auckland to the guys at Autoclutch.

They rebuilt the standard clutch/pressure plate. There is now double the clamping force (1700lbs is now 3300lbs) and the clutch plate is brass lined (which is better than kevlar!) so it will certainly bite now :D. They also built a whole new flywheel, which weighs about 1/100th of the standard one. An A+ job from those guys!

A few other clutch related parts are being replaced too. A wee tidbit of information: the E36 m3 clutch pedal is plastic, not metal (to save weight). Those M boys sure are clever :P.

    Next step: killer brakes.

  4. As title describes

    98 m3 evo e36 facelift coupe

I can only find Miltech new from Autopassion and theyre $2500!!!!

That's what you're going to pay for a proper exhaust system designed for your car. I've got one and I love it, it sounds great and when my car was NA it had a slight power advantage. Plus it weighs about 1/5 as much as the stock system, and that's the key.

  5. The E30 is obviously going to win out on here :P. But I vote the e46 because it is an every day car which can set your pants on fire at any point in the day. Given that, you could buy an e30 m3, drive it for a few months to get it out of your system and lose next to no money selling it then get an e46 which would have fallen in price further.

  6. Strange that it's doing that, I'll look into it later. Right click -> save as should work fine for now.

nope dont work.....your webservers MIME types are not configured correctly, its trying to server the files as straight HTML and not a file with header .. in this case WMV. you youtube or vimeo.com (supports proper 720p hd)

The mime types are fine, I'll upload to youtube later...

    Edit:

    Added youtube version...
