After thinking about the fuel sid eof things i remebered this car did have some rank fuel in it when i got it so am pulling the injectors to check. Everything up to there has been replaced, pump, filter FPR. How does the main round plug on the injector loom come out? I have unscrewed the bottom half of the plug but cant get the top section off?

Got a '96 volvo 850 T5 for the wife to cart kids around in, Had been totally neglected by previous owner who siad it was using half a litre of oil a month. Cause was loose oil filter that was almost falling off. Oil looked like molasses and no service records but the price was right. Put in fresh oil and some stop leak in the power steering and now no more drips on the drive. Nice old car with the full leather, etc, goes like snot and stops very well, a bit rare in 2.0L turbo rather than the 2.3L. I soon found a 2.3L parts car for $500 nearby with a blown head gasket. Have now decided to have a crack at doing the head and then the cambelts on both. From what i can find online the belts are compatible between these engines??? If anyone has any experience with these motors i would appeciate some tips, looking to order bulk parts through one of the many USA sites offering cheap parts. The local dealer rates are out of the question. If anyone has the camshaft holding tool set for this model (1996 850 turbo) I would be keen to borrow/rent.

Cheers Max, I have a prefacelift 325i I can borrow to swap bits over so will give those a crack. What were your symtoms? Also thought maybe fuel injectors.....?

Getting E30 325i ready to sell and its playing up, i drive the car easy until it warms up but during mild acceleration it cuts out for half a second, like its not getting fuel? This car has had these parts replaced new over the last 6 months, Fuel pump, fuel filter, plugs, cap, rotor, valves adjusted. Strange but it only seems to do it just the once. Usually always when the engine temp is on the way up and within the first 15 mins of running. Did it with the old fuel pump too which was changed due to intermittent whine. I got a new walbro pump from usa, rated for e30 and recommended on another forum so has nice clean sock. Now that pump is starting to buzz as well......grrr. Engine temp sensor? The plug is pretty rough but gauge reads fine. compressions are vg......... any suggestions appreciated. Cheers Chris

A suitably expeienced person is required to respray an e30 in lacquer. trims are off and most rubbing done, paint supplied.

After 4x Ice white doors to a FL E30, prefer completebut will take without glass, winder gear or cards if necessary.

I had a cunning plan to change some pfl doors onto my fl e30 as the current ones are rusted out. They power window units are different and it seems the motors are not interchageable. The ones i have do not have a bearing in the bottom of the motor casing, just a crude socket and a brass ball on the end of the pinion shaft. My questionis, is there a way to refurb these? mine is fine winding up but hellish noisy on the way down. There are small tabs on the edge of the socket which i guess get bent up when you remove the shaft. Do these need to be somehow pressed down again to retain the ball under tension? Should have just got new fl doors eh.... If anyone has 4x ice white FL doors or some constructive comments? Cheers

Nah mate, i have too many sets of wheel sin the shed. Why don't you buy 4 and on sell 2? I have put no value on the tyres other than convenience for someone wanting to drive on them straight away. Would split if someone else wants 2 now??

A very tidy set of 4x factory BBS wheels as above. One has been re-finished following a very minor repair by mag repeir place in Cambridge. Bridgestone rubber, 3 would be warrantable, the other one is borderline. I'm thinking $900 but open to reasonable offers.

Cheers - I may be keen on that - this car has been resurected after sitting for 2 years. Fluid colour is good but i was hoping this might be a service or adjustement problem.......?

Hi, my FL E30 325i auto is downshifting if i accelerate hard (kickdown) then ease foot off the gas, rather than shifting up. Its making for lots of revs and excitement but does anyone know whats up? to be clear, overtaking i press down to the kick down switch, it kicks down then at about 120 changes up, then when i ease off the gas it kicks down again....... Cheers

Can you look under the cover under the rhsof the reaer seat, undo the oval cover. If it has two metal pipes coming out that are the same diameter then its probaly what i am after.
