  1. hi guys, i was working on the car yesterday, and dicovered that the ECU is a motronic one... in my understanding i believed that the FL E30 ran the jetronic? my car (ever since i got it) barely gets 350km's out of a tank. could this have something to do with it? edit: for a moment there i had a brain fade... forget this thread!!!!

  4. haha yeah should've been clearer, the main problem is the rough idling. but the warning panel... i just wanna know if OVERHEAT is normally the only warning light that shows up when you first turn the car on. it goes out after 2 secs.
  5. That blue E30 didn't happen to be a race car did it? like a bright blue? Red E30 in a garage the other day with a 7mGTE from an MA70 sticking out the bonnet! looking forward to seeing that on the road!

Hi all, 1990 E30 318i Auto. start the car up cold and drive it runs fine. stop the car, turn it off, turn it on again won't idle for a while, then after driving it for about 5 mins or taking it down the MW it will idle. im at a loss as i have never had this sorta thing before. Also, in the centre of the roof just infront of the rear view, is the warning panel. when you start the car it comes up with OVERHEAT but nothing else. is this the only warning light on it? how can i test it?   7. they do indeed, however the hartge rim for the E30 (from memory) has less spokes whereas these are a close match to the Alpina ones.

    different ratio gearbox maybe, however that could not shave 1.3 seconds of the 0-100 time. if your car truely did it in 6.4 secs then there has been something done to it mate that maybe you aint aware of...

    i know for a fact that you could not hit 100km/h faster than a 1996 M3... for one my brother has a 96 M3, my partner a 1995 M530iSE and both are manual...been there tried that one! so unless you can change gear faster than me or you have confused your 530 with an S5, i think i'd get your stopwatch checked!

  14. i'm not sure if they are true race wheels or if they're road and track, the guy at magwarehouse.com wanted to buy them back off me though for his merc.....and this is what he told me they were. will get some pics up soon. just pricing up a Wetterauer chip for it. next on the list is a sex change (auto at the moment!)

Thought i'd finally join up, as i'm now on my third beemer! i currently have an 1990 E30 318i, lowered on 17" BBS Race Rims, tinted windows and HKS Filter system. previosly owned a e36 320i and a e30 318c (yes carburrated) which i converted the shoddy old solex carb to a 32/36 Weber. i'm currently looking for anyone with a motorsport kit to fit a 4 door facelift. also after a tip on which brand exhaust system to use. Have a good one!
