  1. Actually I'm after the plug that connects the distributor to the cars wiring loom. I had a brain fart yesterday and attempted to remove the engine without disconnecting it. I'd also consider buying a complete distributor provided I get the plug as well.
  2. Wire it in series with the coolant temperature sensor, this will fool the ECU into thinking that the engine is running cooler than it is so it will make the mixture richer. It sort of worked with my old Toyota rally car but changing to a Link worked much better. Note: It's probably wise to put a switch in the circuit that will short the resistor out of the circuit, I had one a cheap one fill up with dust - then car didn't run at all. Make sure you get a linear variable resistor not logarithmic
  3. Hi, I'm looking for 1 only 16" alloy to suit an E46 - perferably a factory pattern. I believe one from an E36 would also be close enough. (slightly different offset). Looking to pay around $150-200, don't need tyre. Cheers Craig
  4. Actually it's for my 2002, but I believe the brackets on all the M10 engines are the same. The stock 2002 one (about 35A) just isn't keeping up with my fans and fuel pumps and I need to get it sorted this weekend ready for the Possum Bourne Memorial Rally the following weekend. Cheers Craig

    HELP ME

Actually I do have a spare 1/2 shaft (I've got a total of 5) - no idea of the condition but your're welcome to it for, say a couple of six packs of Carlsberg. I'm in Pukekohe
  6. Intially it looked straight forward, change the drive gear, weld up the mechanical advance and disconnect the vaccum advance. The trick is: there is a spiral groove on the shaft to help keep the oil in, this is now spinning backwards and pumping oil out and on to the exhaust. I ended up swapping the dizzy shaft with a 2002 one. (more machining and welding) Seems to be fine now. I already had the link from a previous car, so far it hasn't given me any problems

    HELP ME

Did you get the part you needed?, Sorry being in Auckland I couldn't help at the time. I've got two complete 2002 rear ends (drum to drum) I was wanting to sell Say $300 for the pair, Any use to you?
  8. Hi, I'm curious, what are you using for a crank angle sensor and/or dizzy?. I've adapted an E30 dizzy to work with a Link ECU on my 2002. The process has not been without it's "issues" just wondering how you've tackled it.
  9. Hi, I'm looking for some 14" Alloy Rims to suit an E30, Bottlecaps would be ideal, I was looking to pay around $50 a rim but would be flexable depending on condiction / type Cheers Craig
  10. Thanks for that Andrew, I don't have the ETK where can I lay my hands on it?
  11. My 2002 runs an E30 325i rear subframe & diff, everytime I talk to the dealer about diff parts I get "What are the last 7 digits of the chassis number ?". Then I have to explain that I don't have them and can't go home and get them, then the parts person gets a bit bitter and twisted and we start the conversation on the wrong foot. If somebody is willing to share the last 7 digits of their 325 with me I'd be very grateful Cheers Craig
  12. Hmm interesting, I've modifed my 2002 to take an E30 rear end (by the cutting & welding method) - this means I could upgrade further without too much hassle

  14. I've got bit's & pieces, a complete rear subframe, plus another car I'll be wrecking in the next month or so

Unfortunately, a bit pricey for me at the moment. There are other areas that need to have money spend on them and her indoors won't allow a budget increase.
  16. I've got a Bentley E36 workshop manual, covers model years 1992 - 1998 It's in excellent condition & cost me about $60 US. Offers anyone ?

What ?, are you telling me there was a car in those pictures ?. Although I must say getting that engine in must of been an exercise, theres not that much extra room in 2002 engine bay particularly in length

    It's Done!

I doubt if I'll have it sorted for a full rally until next year. I plan to do some hill climbs later this year. The first major event is likely to be the Possum Bourne Memorial Rallysprint around March 2006. The built has taken far too long - I'm not sure if I remember how to drive. I don't want to stick it on it's roof 1st time out. (Like I did with the last car)

Turbo ? Alas no - it's a n/a M10 with an E30 318 inlet manifold & Link ECU, currently the rest of the engine is fairly stock. I've got another couple of engines to build up with a bit more power but I need to sort out the handling first. I'm running E30 325 front brakes on modified 2002 struts, the whole rear subframe is also from a E30. Ive got a 325 LSD to go in to it but the ratio is a bit high for a rally car, I believe there is a company in Perth that can make custom ratios for it. Currently it's got a 318 diff with 4.44 ratio which I'll probably weld up.

Targa ? - No a gravel rally car (hence the ride height), although it's pictured with tarmac wheels & tyres
