  1. Meh, if anything cutting springs is asking for harassment.

    You should know that.

You can always try trademe and add 'VTEC YOOO' to the title (no offense sic). That should work.

And play up the VANOS (whoooo).

Oh yeah and selling a $5k e36 is like a girl with a deep voice.. you just know something aint right.

  2. Has anyone heard or had this problem before?

If this were to happen wouldn't it be covered in the warranty?

Plus a warranty on wheels will be dodgy. They cant guarantee hardness against potholes. They would say that it is unusual wear & tear or something, not a manufacture error.. Dont go cheap on rims. Get BBS - that style is basically a bbs anyway.

  3. Im pretty sure it aint normal, as it started overnight..after the whole cooling thing even (maybe 2 days after). The revs are annoying when you slow - as it gives a slight push when youre nearly stopped.

Oh yeah, the bushings for front can be either centered or offcenter - stock is center, offcenter has something to do with caster - which again i dont know the benefits of messing with it..

  4. I think you might find its a E39 Motorsport/M5 kit, Dennis. But don't quote me on that.

Yeah looks cool except for all those ricey lights.

You might be right.. i thought its e46 coz its kinda..a 'popular' mod in some circles.. Potential fitment&style clashes about usually..

It prob wont be either tho - but yeah!

  5. So after my car survived the waterpump/thermostat/radiator fiasco, i have another small list of stuff to do. Feel free to chime in with remarks/advice.

    1. Teh tranny? New thing my car does, is when i slow to a stop, the engine will rev a little before it stops. Its an auto, so i dunno if its transmission fluid low, or if its somehow engine related.. gonna get it looked at in next week prob.

    2. Morons tried to steal my car. They failed. Result is a small, and neat breakage of i guess the outer metal bit of the door lock. The key doesnt work in it anymore, so something else might be broken in it. Is it possible to just fix the outside broken bit, or will the whole lock need doing? Never parking/going to work at night again. Meh.

    3. Control arms replacement coming up. Simple question - Offset or centered oem bushings? I know the offset will increase the caster, but i have no idea how this would help/not help. Also any hints on how to decrease inside tyre wear on the fronts?

    4. Bushings for sways - do they need replacing? Is there a point? Stock sways would be 'better' with them?

Thats it for now i believe. Lets see how much this ends up costing..hoorah!

  6. what about one with a full bmw history or the like? i have heard ppl saying that, but exactly what is wrong with them that isnt wrong with newer ones?

Early build years always have bad interiors. Also 92s will be non vanos.

Oh yeah, dont be getting a 318. They are plenty cheaper than 325's purely because their engine is underpowered, and they are plentiful. Get a 325 or better, or youll only have half a car. Also, sure mentioning kits is nice, but the point is no amount of show can make up for a lack of go. Oh yeah, get andrews e36, especially as it has excellent ACS wheels, which are next to impossible to buy(reasonably) and could be sold for quite a bit.

  7. Eh?

Are we talking 'wannabe xenon halogen bulbs'

    or

Actual HID Xenon Bulbs with HID Ballasts etc.

If the above, take off the covers, put the new ones in. Theyll be the same as the ones you got now, except less light output, and look bluer.

For option 2, check out some install stuff at understeer.com under the lighting section in the store.

  8. try checking the e36 buyers guide. I think theres a stickied threads.

Bmw's are great cars, and the best thing is that everything which wears out is VERY predictable. You pretty much know exactly when it goes, and what it was.

Main things which go around 130k km Waterpump, which kills the thermostat, and also the radiator neck.

CHeck the buyers guides. Theres a list of things which happens to every car, so plan for it, and youll be fine.
