Hey, welcome to the site Supes, don't mind these guys dishing out comments, they'll start hammering you about spare parts next. Where's the pic of your ride???
-
Houses are made from wood and they're pretty tough so you gotta think a tree would be kinda tougher...at any rate, that car must have slid into that tree perfectly sideways and with some force to split it perfectly in half - you also have to admit that those trees are bloody close to the road aswell - driver error???
-
Have you lightened it or is it just lighter cause it's a 318 coupe???
-
What O/S is that 9?
-
Looks obviously can be deceiving though I'd be interested to hear how loud your car is from the inside, i'd also like to see some pics. I'll be taking a few this weekend I could image, next week will be a bit of a pic-fest.

Wait, what about those big f-off unimog mercs that the army has, I wouldn't mind having one of those massive 4x4's for getting up to the ski-fields or for invading some minor country
-
Don't forget ppl that buses and trains are the best mode of transport for a drunkard, taxis are way too expensive, so i'd agree that being on a bus ain't all that bad if it were a merc
-
You've got to feel sorry for two ppl here, the person who found the the crash and the passenger as he/she was a victim who was probably feeling uncomfortable with the speed that the driver was going...
-
Curiously, is there an easy way to reduce some unnecessary weight without degrading ride comfort???
-
I can say that having adjustable suspension is just wicked. My old man had to drive my car (story was I as driving in my friends car to National Park when it blew the head near Waiouru), shocks were set to firm so CD kept skipping but the old man said he loved the cornering. On the trip back it was set to soft, no skipping, but more roll in the corners...so I can only assume that if you're running stock shocks then you're cornering isn't going to be as great

I wreckon there's a good chance you're more likely to have an accident in a 4x4 than a car given their size and poor handling (excl. the X5 and porsche), also, ppl get intimidated by bigger vehicles - how many times have you seen ppl you've been following actually slow down because they see an oncoming truck - like it's going to make a difference ppl!!!
-
Car has nice stats for a 2.3, shame i'm not a fan of the merc body, could you put the engine into an E30 I wonder???
-
Why wouldn't they cover you, does your car sit below the legal limit, or did they say you needed a cert for any modification??? The reason I ask is that i've lowered my car (still legal) and am about to change teh gearbox...
-
Yeah, go the no claims, make sure you get an alarm aswell, it's only a 5% discont through state (prob same elsewhere?) but that saves $25-50 a year and means keyless entry
-
I agree Grant that it doesn't make sense being a yearly thing, it just seems that that's what mine does, luckily for me it happens just before winter every year so I get new wiper blades out of it.
-
The annual inspection isn't a biggie, you can just drive around until you need a service if you want, just depends if you can handle the light being on I guess...
-
All I know is that every February without fail i've had that damned inspection light come on. My last service was an S.2, $500 for the works, I think my last S.1 was $350.
-
I'm paying $550 through state for gold insurance, $9k cover, I think excess is either $500 or $750.
-
I beg to differ, every Feburary my annual inspection light comes on irrespective of how much i've used the car, can you explain that one, and why do the service centre call it the "Annual Inpsection Light" if it's not an annual thing??????
-
Woah nelly, i've been getting mine serviced from BMW centre since I had it, no wonder everything seems to work properly - they're quite thorough by the sounds of it and they even oil the door hinges Oh yeah - the inspection light is an annual thing - hence annual inspection, it's totally time based and irrespective of the service lights. Oh yeah 2 - the annual inspection is really useful for picking up preventative problems with your car, like if you need to think about replacing bushes or your cambelt, but they only make suggestions. I think i've been paying $150 for an inspection...but I get them to do the warrant at the same time as it's less hassle.

IMHO I think dish is good but agree that too much is just bad taste. A good inch of dish looks great on E30s.
