  1. Dan, Martynn, thursday's good for a beer after work. I'll PM you guys my email.
  2. hahaha, i'm no expert, but will gladly help where I can and elevate the serious stuff to the more experienced people, you can only learn through experience
  3. Dan, we should meet and have a go over, sounds like standard stuff. The rough engine in the lower rev band sounds like too much air in the intake, as Chris said, but being intermittant you could simply have a split hose so we can simply check your intake for it and it may save you $$$ I had the exact same knocking noise you describe, it stopped after I replaced my springs shocks and bushes. It's definately not a CV joint as that's a different sound. My guess was a worn shock, as someone else said, as it only makes a second thump after it's rebounded. I'm away this weekend however we could meet wednesday or thursday night for a beer and chat? E: I also know of a couple of places for repairs, different places for different jobs though so we can talk about it later.

325Grant has a Facelift car with pre-fl bits, my understanding was the first of the facelifts were mongrel cases bearing only some of the facelifts...yours must be one of them

Assuming all 35-50 yr olds have the financial means to go jaunting off to either of these places is fairly narrow. While it's cheap for me to fly to Chch from Welly and stay there, the cost of from somewhere more obscure does seriously limit certain ppl's options. Thinking outside the square has its limitations, unfortunately, alot ppl are going to lose out because of this new trend. It's just a shame because he is such a talented individual.
  7. That's proably the same bird that told me 95% of americans drive automatics

That's true, but it really does cut off alot of fans given the location and costs, neither venue is really an attractive offer for people given the location of N.P. and the date for ChCh.
  9. Sparkle, you really are an idiot, think about it.Extractors designed and tuned specifically for M20 compared to a custom exhaust shop...no real comparison, custom shop extractors compared to Hartge, probably a $1400 difference Using a template such as the pic above would be far more attractive than a custom shop. My budget allows for at least $800. E: A $600 custom set is attractive, but how beneficial would it really be??? Smokenbaby, who designed those extractors in the pic???

    Diff

Don't be such an idiot, on that assumption sparkle i'd assume you were a fairy, skidz is quite a capable driver - more so than you - you'd have to be to compete in intermarque
  11. Carl

    Diff

skidz4me is a bimmer member, Stephen, who races Intermarque in a E30 320 with a 323 engine transplant... Interesting ratio though, 3.87...

    Diff

I've already obtained a 3.64 diff, but thanks for thinking of me, Tane was looking at the 3.73 that was on TradeMe a week ago...he's still running with his 4.27 from the auto...
  13. Why don't we start a serious list of people that are serious about buying a set of E30 M20 extractors, and by serious I mean people that can front up with money for a set, no tyre kickers I'm dead serious Tim I know is serious Smoken baby is aswell

Tell me about it, for one of the best guitarist if not the best rock guitarists in the world you'd think organisers would have chosen a better north island venue??!??! I'm thinking of flying down to chch just for the concert down there, stupid organisers

New Plymouth 19th March or Christchurch 21st March.... Anyone going to either of these concerts???
  16. There's got to be a list of 15-20 people wanting E30 6cyl extractors now so jump on the list of those waiting for someone to get copies done of their extractors, the more on the list means the cheaper it gets for us and the bigger the profit/incentive for the copier
  17. ME. It's gotta be a rangi. They look like mtech1 copies, especially the wing and skirts, although the front spoiler is the odity though...it doesn't even sit over the foggies....the kit works though, looks far better than stock.
  18. That's the kit that Hartage (Ian) has, that's the best skirts and spoiler you can have for pre-facelift I wreckon, but not worth $700 hahahaha
  19. Wht have I seen that photo somewhere before???
  20. I had this problem on mine. The exact cause was when locking the box the handle lifted so as the box locked itself while the handle was sticking out or when unlocking the box the handle lifted aswell so the box was unlocked but the handle is stuck out and wont open. Simple fix is to insert your key and jiggle the lock from locked to unlocked and back while trying to get the handle back into the unopen position.
  21. Seats could be useful...mags you could sell...
  22. My car has a ticking noise albeit subtle...needs a good tune up I wreckon, it's been serviced up until recently by Shelleys BMW here in welly but that does nothing in the way of actual mechanical maintenance. I've been told by Ian (hartage) to get my valve clearnaces done so I guess he knows the cost???
  23. spoon award! True, I think Evan should buy me a choc fish for that one
  24. It'll be either injectors or valve clearances EDIT: my last car, an izuzu, had noisey tapets but I don't think that's a bmw prob???

    SITDWN

I agree with you Gus, those wheels look the part, where from can I buy a set??? (big brakes would fit in those...)
