  1. Nope, it ain't a facelift kit.Money is on mtech1 copies sides and rears Front spoiler is the killer I ain't giving out no choc fish willy nilly
  2. No confrimation yet, it's still an unkown kit and no one's any wiser as I suggested it was an mtech1 copy, need to see pics of it on some other car/site.

    Wheel offset

smug bastardEvan, it's not that easy finding wheels, I had the choice of mine or basket weaves I know 325Grant has some decent spare alloys that will fit but they're being used on a trailor

    Air Filter

Leave it at stock unless you got other mods, you don't get much gains on an E30 playing with the filter alone apart from a sound difference, it's really not worth the effort.
  5. It's not mtech, zender, alpina, or hartge ACS, BBS???
  6. What is that rear wing? The skirts and rear look similar to mtech1, I ain't seen that front spoiler before though...
  7. Grant, I will admit that at the time of purchase I was strapped for cash since I had just bought new rims and the Barum's were cheap as chips for directionals. I believe that they were a damned good purchase for the price though. I have found the Barum's to be quite a hard tyre which is why they have exceptional wear, fairly even too...but they sacrifice the grip for it. I've only come loose twice and both times it was going uphill in the wet around right hand sweepers - possibly the diff at fault but disconcerting. They also like to squeal loudly when you reach there traction limits round bends. I've been waiting for them to wear out so I can get some new tyres but i've been waiting for over 9 months now for them to wear out!!!
  8. Hmmm, i've got 205/55 baruums all round on mine, had them for 4 years and have done over 40 thou on them, one has 5ml left and the rest 6ml. While they're not the best performance tyre on the market they're certainly up there for wear.
  9. Hartge is exactly like Alpina in that they're an aftermarket company that tunes the bimmer, does the normal mods plus engine rebuilds, and they've also done the new mini too...Alpina haven't modded a new mini yet have they? Racing Dynamics and Breyton aren't bimmer-specific aftermarket companies.
  10. The pics are probably more for what condition it's in. I'm positive everyone here should be able to distinguish between an mtech 1 from an mtech 2 and know that zender (tim's), bbs (finned), hartge (lippy), and alpina (snowplough) also make kits that are different yet again! edit: Forgot to add ACS aswell

Am I blind, or have I misread something, but where's the lever in that first shot (or was that pre drivetrain)... Nice interior colour scheme, would suit my blue beast quite nicely
  12. That's old but a dodgy as. Check out Mike Moore's 9/11 documentary, there's some dodgy sh*t going on there.
  13. Just make sure you connect the right pins, the motronic and jetronic have different pin arrays. I have a piece of highly crafted intertwined copper threading shielded with a rubber coating that I use for the job, it sits in my boot purely for the servicing.
  14. This is interesting... I wonder if this is a simple mod or if this has any affect at all???
  15. Sounds like a vacuum leak. It's possible that in the conversion a vacuum pipe from the auto box to the engine may have been left dangling or open. This is effectively like taking the oil cap off while running the car, kills it. I had a vacuum leak on my car post conversion although it was to do with the air intake cock - meant too much air was getting sucked into the fuel mixture making it run quite lean. Check for a vacuum leak around the engine and intake, you may have to listen for air getting sucked into a pipe somewhere, if you find it and it's a pipe going nowhere then block it (unless it is supposed to go somewhere and it's been knocked off). Check your intake air cock (fat black bendy rubber piping from AFM to intake) isn't split, you'll need to check this from top and bottom and may need to take this off to check. Check that the pipe from the intake manifold to the fuel pressure regulator isn't split or worn out.
  16. Speaking of allen keys, where can one get a 1mm, a 1.5 mm, and a 2mm allen key from???
  17. Not a bad option...reminds me of a jag I was in down south in Lincoln a few years back, had two 6'ers side by side it, very weird but bloody awesome. If you've got money to burn and don't care about the resale value then do it otherwise just sell your car and buy a more powerful one.
  18. Sounds like you simply need to just adjust your idle as it may be set too low but in saying that it could also be a mismatched g/box. What's the lowest rpm you can lift your accelerator off to before it stalls?

For headers you're best to PM Ian for info and to clarify his setup but to my knowledge Ian went in to get his car dyno tuned and they sent him away and told him to change the exhaust setup. After doing the headers and exhaust the dyno tune increased it 50nm.
  20. That E21 is pure badness, shame there isn't an engine bay photo to see how it all fits together.
  21. Be more specific with the "trouble starting" otherwise it could be any number of factors. What does it sound like when starting? Does the car start? How does it idle after started? How does it run after started? What gearbox did you stick into the car, ie, what getrag number? Who did the g/box conversion?
  22. You need two people to do it, one under the car at the slave cylinder end and one at the clutch pedal / resovoir end, and no it's not that difficult.
  23. Tim, are your lights visible from 100m??? Hmmm, I think not hahaha
  24. It sounds as though your diff is the problem. As the teeth wear out they can make a whining noise that is more noticeable the faster you go and will be irrespective of accelerating or not. In regards to oil i'm using Redline diff oil in mine as that was recommended by someone more knowledgeable than myself. In regards to changing the diff, the E28 diffs will fit quite nicely into the E30 (since they're the same) but be sure to get a suitable ratio otherwise it can be just as frustrating as driving with a whine.

    New Year

Gisborne styles myself, sunshine the whole 4 days I was there!!! Couldn't give a hoot about staying up for midnight doing all that b/s, just got up at 5:30 and watched the sunrise on the beach with the missus and our staffie, rest of the time was just relaxing in the sun.
