Hey, i have a set of 17"x (7 or 8) Beyern Mesh wheels with tyres (2-4mm) that came off an e34. they are in pretty good condition with only minor scratches around the rim. i am not to sure what they are worth so i thought id ask the experts on here and also see if there is any interest in them. i couldn't take a pic of them coz they are up north at a different property but i got one off the net thats the closest to what they look like. Cheers

would be very keen on an e30 fitment! any ideas on price at the moment?
-
oh yea of course, na i wouldn't do it unless i had the wide rims with it.

Hey all... just been looking around on the net and came across the pic below... just wanted to get your opinion on them and if anyone else has done it? If so... Where did u get them? Price? Etc. im not completely sold on them but i think they make the e30 more aggressive looking. ive also added a pic of my e30 to compare. Cheers

just replaced the thermostat. it now never runs above halfway! cheers to those to helped me out. my next problem with most certainly be on its way Cheers Again

although i am an e30 Driver i had to put this in! Jonsibal's E36 in my opinion: nothing much elce beats it. its pure class and quite frankly: pure sex on a Bavarian Chassis...

i completely understand, i did c what the temps were, just past half way on the gauge it was around 90 degrees and when it got up towards 3/4 the temp was around 100-110 so i believe the temp sensors are fine for now. i will change the thermostat which needs replacing anyway (coz its kinda old) and its not to difficult, and if that does nothing will look and the senders and then the pump. cheers for the response
-
ok cheers for that its given me something to think about. the temps where looked at by aaron at fredco, silverdale. these guys have been bmw trained and are the sort of bmw mechanics that know whats wrong by listening to it. i have faith in them and they know what there doing. they suggested replacing the thermostat, so ill do that and make sure i bleed it a few times after wards like u suggest. and we will c what happens then...

dont want to sound like a d*ck, but $500 for a buggerd auto Gbox seems a bit steep.
-
sweet! cheers mate, that makes me feel better about spending the time replacing it. i would hate to have to take the front of the engine apart AGAIN.
-
yea i agree with u but the anoying side to that is i just spent $800 odd replacing the head with a new cam belt and everything! (its so cheap coz i did most of the work) but before i give any of u a chance to say it i am an idiot for not changing the pump at the same time, just figured it wouldnt b an issue. im gunna swap the thermostat and temp guages 2morrow and if that dosent do it ill just have to bite the bullet and do a water pump. hopefully will be able to without taking off the cam belt.

the thing is (without starting up sh*t again) i think your first comment about the gasket was fair and that with the given info could very well have been the problem. i think its not right to instantly dismiss anything that anyone says because 1. they may know sumthing u dont and 2 like i said before weather its right or wrong it might be something the person with the problem had not thought about.

Welcome! E30 for sure, i brought one a few years back, im now on my third and have never wanted another car!
-
HAHA! ive read thru this twice now and still have no idea what the point is.. but just to add my 2c - i personally have learnt alot from the guys here on bimmersport. whether the info ive been given is completely tru or not ive sumhow been able to work it out. i think info from anyone who at least knows roughly what they are talking about helps because it gets u thinking about all the things that could be wrong. and could spark ideas which before had not been thought about. anyway i think thats what urve been on about - if not just ignore me... lol ben

no i dont think so. i think if that were the case it would sit at a constant wrong temp, but its not it fluctuates between halfway and 3/4. i replaced the fan clutch today and it seemed to engage a little better than the last but is still making weird temp fluctuations. ive just got back from Fredco, we spent a gud 1.5hrs having a look at diffrent temp readings around the engine/radiator, from which it dosent seem to have a blockage anywhere. his next guess was to replace the thermostat, even tho it seems to be working it might not be opening fully or just something weird going on with it. if anyone knows of a better cheaper place to get these than euro Italian parts ($52 i think) although that has been the lowest so far, let me know. cheers

OK, just did the paper in the fan test. when the engine was cold i could stop it with ease. when it was half way i could still stop it with ease, but when it reached about a needle width before 3/4 it engages and cant be stoped. does this mean its buggerd? because when it did engage the temp dropped pretty quick. cheers

the fan assembly came out of my 2ltr engine witch never had an overheating issue. just so i know, what is it that turns the fan clutch on? heat?
-
Yes. i did it once, The guys at Fredco motors did it again. still nothing. the water pump is defiantly working but my concern is that it might not be pumping fast enough, is this possible?
-
the viscous looked like a pretty mint one when i put it in. and it seems to run at the right temp when just sitting around. it only heats up to 3/4 when driving Goes beyond 3/4 when giving it some sh*t goes closer to halfway wen there is little or no strain being put on the engine. cheers
-
hey, have just put a M20B25 in my e30 and it is all running sweet except my cooling system... the engine heats up at the normal speed but continues past half way until it reaches 3/4 where it will sit until either i am going downhill on idle (it will cool slightly, sumtimes to halfway) or i am putting strain on the engine like going uphill (temp gauge will contine past 3/4 mark). i had the guys at fredco motors take a look and they seemd to fix the problem but a short while after driving down the rd it started doing the same thing. then ray (hellbm) suggested a blockd pipe where the pipe from the radiator enters the reservoir tank, so i cleaned that out witch again seemd to sort the problem untill i took it for a drive!! the thermostat works as i tested it before i put it back in. the engine is a mix of prefacelift and facelift parts. the temp sensors are prefacelift and the wireing is facelift, would this be a problem? otherwise i havent got a clue as to why its doing this, any ideas would be appreciated. Cheers Ben

hey all! just thought with this awsum weather 2day i would take a few pics of the new 2.5ltr in the car. the car was originally a 2ltr auto and is now a 2.5ltr manual also managed to get a black rocker cover and intake manifold, which suits the car! still seems to have some overheating issues that need sorting. but next step will probably be to get rid of the bottlecaps and get sum real wheels. and maybe some tints let me know what u think Cheers
-
hey again. as i mentioned in my last post i have just done a 2.5ltr conversion into my e30. the original car was a 1990 320i auto. the new engine is a pre facelift 2.5 with facelift intake/ exhaust manifold and all the electronics including the motronic stuff. also with a 260 manual box. (and obviously using a facelift 325 ECU) i just need to know a few things before i go any further and hope i can get some help. 1. does the facelift exaust and intake manifolds fit exactly onto the older block? 2. can i use the facelift 2.0ltr Air flow meter and throttle body from the original engine? and is there anyone elce on here who has done this conversion like i have with the older block and head? if so did u come across any problems? Cheers Guys Ben
