My warranty was a godsend, i had the car 3 days and then I had trouble shfting into 1st and reverse. The dealer told me to take the car to Shellys for an assessment. Turns out the car needed new clutch, and dual flywheel. 3 weeks later i got the car back, ( parts came from germany ) total bill $5000. Protecta paid the lot. My warranty covers $5000 per claim. Mind due had they not the dealer would have been coughing up as i had them do a pre inspection on it prior to them selling it to me! Get a warranty if you can, however i note with mine it covered cars not older than 10 years and no more than 125 000kms.

it is the car, the mustard interior is what I liked about the car. Emma what did he trade it on for him to sell it down your way?
-
Yes my car was the one on trademe awhile back. The Blue one M Power has just shown, is this a car from auckland used to be owned by david findlow plate DF GAS, if it is I agree it is mint. I came very close to buying it. Jerry Claytons gave it a glowing report.

I ended up buying a 1996 Evo sedan, I looked and looked also however the one's with lowest K's were all smg. 90% of the people I spoke to put me off these. this included BMW dealers who had one for sale! My car is a very rare colour called Byzanz. Sedan only colour I had to look it up on the internet to see what the hell this colour was. A sedan is fine by me as I have kids and p/up clients etc. I always find that just after you buy a car another one just whatt your after pops up. Jerry Clayton charges $145 to do the inspection, and i would rather have a main dealer check it than anyone else ( i had them do a vanos check on mine ). That said if i can't find it I will ring them for you and ask them to give it to you, Hans is the guy to deal with.
-
Ok so same car, I will try to find the report otherwise i have no problem asking them to give you the report. I got the same response from the guy living in Remuera i.e that the car was fine however I remeember Jerry Clayton's Han's reeling off a huge list of problems to me over the phone. I rang him back a week later and he said if you spent several thousand on it the car could be OK. I don't know how thorough JCB are compared to the other place you had it checked, it could be JCB are too critical. If you got it cheap enough maybe its would be worth it, what about the 1994 red one thats for sale or even better the black 1996 evo. I will try to find the report

I beleive this was a car for sale on trademe several months ago in Auckland, which sold for the same money he is asking now. I had Jerry Claytons do a pre sale check on it and in their view it was not a good car lots of mechanical and suspension issues.

Thanks Gus, but no I have had my fun with an e30 motorsport I am moving on

For those of you who are actually interested in buying my car, let me correct some of the mistakes written about the car namely by your so called Chief Moderator Andrew. The car has only ONE interested finance company Legacy Finance, who I owe a tiny amount, which would obviously be repaid before a sale would be actioned. If Andrew did alittle bit more research he would find the secondary party he describes relates to a personalised plate that was once on the vehicle, its had 3, and now is on a 2000 subaru impreza, hence the finance is on that car Not mine. Check it out if u must. Second no OBC, so what , A friend of mine who has the same car a 1989 model, possibly the best in the country ask Carl, also has no OBC. I will provide the name of the original owner well known in the car industry, if u must, to verify the authenticity of the car. Lets put it this way, Do you think he would have paid 90K for a car he didn't beleive was the real deal. or Imagine Fairview Mclean misrepresenting the vehicle. Legal issues here! Come on, if you are interested in the car call me, if not stop bull shitting.
-
Hey Andrew, Stop being a prick, get your facts together on the car before you go giving your 2 cents worth, ring either shelly bmw or bmw who will give the specs. I have! Whats this about the debt! confuses me
-
AS the car is a 1989 model it did not come with OBC. I said I have recently recovered the seats in cloth, and yes it had a LSD as it should being a motorsport

There are those who will pay to secure a mint car. If you follow alot of the threads on this site, it seems to be geared to a fairly young audience who are perhaps buying their first car, so $4-6K is about tops anyway for actually buying any car. correct me if I am wrong but I don't see many finance companies offering loans on a 15-16 year old car. Alot of these cars are not being bought for everyday use.
-
Do you guys really have a clue when it comes to the value of certain cars! You have no idea what cars are held by collecters/enthusiasts in NZ and what these good ones change hands for. I know of concourse condition cars that would easily sell for $20k, is it the old adage what the buyer will pay. These cars are fast becoming collectors items and good one's will generate a higher price. If an m3 can sell for $50-60k whats $20k for a mint m325

I have for sale a mint set of bottlecaps for those interested
