Thanks for the replies...... I checked fuse 17 in the process of trying to diagnose and it was blown, but replacing it didn't fix the issue. I'll check the starter wires tomorrow. I'm presuming the relay at fault would be k5?

Ok, so I drove my e30 convertible back from Mangawhai on Friday and none of the electric Windows would go up. When I got home I discovered they would work when the door was open. I presumed that I had a broken wire in the door loom so started looking for some evidence of that. Door closed, all good, door open, nothing works. Then I discovered that if I opened the door and operated the windows everything worked - until I touched the interior light switch on the A pillar which made everything stop. Then started fiddling with the interior light up by the check control lights and found that when the light switch is in the hard left position the my windows all work with the door open and closed...... So.....any clues?

Shot with a Canon 6d mk3. I like.

I have an M20B25 under the bench in the back of my garage that is complete as far as I remember (May just be missing the intake manifold now that I think of it) it came out of a NZ new Tech2 car (Rays) when he went 2.7 and I removed it from mine when I did the same. Could be available if anyone is interested.

Took a trip to Sandy Bay (Matapouri). The Hikurangi to Sandy Bay Rd is just a superb bit of Tarmac - about 20k or so of the perfect combination of twisty, windy, short straights and switchbacks. Reminded me again of what a superb chassis the e30 is, even in cab form. Certainly there are quicker and more comfortable cars around, but the soundtrack of the m20b27 screaming like a banshee , wind in my hair and the sun on my back - so hard to beat. Hung out with family for a bit at the Bach and then got to enjoy it all again on the return trip. For a car that is now 26 years old, you'd have to say BMW did a lot right with the e30 and it is so good to find a bit of road that proves the point.

Spent ALL DAY yesterday tracing wires, testing circuits etc etc trying to get the electric release to work on the convertible roof rear lid thing. Finally figured it could only be the switch in the dash. Disassembled switch. Cleaned and reassembled. Repeated process. Googled for clues. Went back to disassembled switch. Reassembled. Disassembled again (getting the picture?) Googled some more. Found a switch at a wrecker in England. Requested a price for said switch. Gave up and watched the cricket :-) Got car out this morning and started to head down to visit Ray to see if we could bodgy something up. Got 2 k's up the road and remembered isolating switch I installed in the circuit when I was dicking about with the roof mechanism some years back. Remembered also that 3 year old granddaughter loves to play in the "car with no roof," pushing buttons and flicking switches. Went back home. Reassembled perfectly fine switch. Installed. Reset isolating switch.

So it's a cabinet meeting then?

UKBORN on Constellation this morning. Got me inspired so I went home and pulled out my cab for the first time in ages and took it for a quick thrashing. It was fun.

Can one of you trainspotters identify these springs?
Yamahoo replied to Yamahoo's topic in General Discussion
Thanks Brent, it seems I have a set of e30 M20 springs that are good for a 35mm drop. Now I have to polish them up real nice and flog them off for an exorbitant price. -
Doing a bit of garage clean out and found a set of springs. I'm pretty sure they're E30 but someone might be able to confirm. They are marked as "SABRE 15-034" Fronts and rears have the same numbering - both are 15-034. Made in Holland. Red like a fire engine. Google tells me nothing, but someone must know?

This could be your lucky day - I have a MANUAL e36is with black leather interior that's now become surplus to our requirements and could be wrestled from me for a fair price.....PM me if you're keen.

I reckon you need to go and visit Ray at HellBM in Silverdale and see what goodies he's got for sale in his treasure trove.
