  1. Looks okay, not my style either, in my opinion it would look better if they were painted a similar shade as the door panels and seats, gives better continuity and keeps the car looking relativley classy inside. But as said each to their own aye as long as you happy with it aye is all that matters. Aside from that I think you did a god job with painting it, Ive seen some really bad ones.
  2. For the townhouse dweller who thought they had everything: BMW is set to launch a remote parking system that will pop a car into its parking space without direct driver control. Aimed at urban types who have large cars (well, BMWs) and very little space in their garages, the prototype BMW Remote Park Assist allows drivers to stand beside their car while it parks itself in a dedicated space. Vehicle guidance is controlled via the key fob. The car moves at 2.5km/h - about half walking speed - and as soon as button on the fob is released the car stops moving. Guidance is controlled via sensors and a special mirror mounted in the garage. The car is retrieved from its parking space in an exact reversal of the parking manoeuvre. Sensors detect obstructions and guide the car around them. BMW says Remote Park Assist is ideal for restricted inner city parking spaces such as townhouse developments and apartment buildings. It also improves pedestrian and child safety, since the driver survives the manoeuvre from outside the car and the car's own parking radar can also detect obstacles. The prototype system was revealed in Munich at the BMW Innovations Day last month. The test car used to demonstrate this technology, a BMW 7-series, was equipped with a video camera fitted at the same level as the interior mirror to monitor the area in front of the car. This camera is similar to the units also used in other driver assistance systems such as lane departure warning. A special reflector in the middle of the farside garage wall is covered by the camera in the approach process. The position and alignment of the car in front of the garage is then determined by evaluating the reflector image detected by the camera, an electric motor on the steering system correcting the steering when required as the car makes its way into the garage. This control function is supplemented by the Park Distance Control (PDC) sensors determining the distance from possible obstacles. If necessary, therefore, the entire parking process can be interrupted in order to avoid collisions. The system computer masterminds the automatic engine start/stop function, the choice of gears, the steering and PDC. It also activates the brakes, headlights, and hazard warning flashers, with the exterior mirrors being automatically folded in when parking and folded out again when the car leaves the garage.
  3. If your a short ass its hard to bring the seat forward enough, luckily im not. Im not sure if they need to be certified, the proberbly do. Do a google search I know there is a instruction on how to make up the bracket templates etc
  4. Yeah I knew that... I can be stupid at times. So what plans do you have for the car?
  5. What do you mean by later model, as in a later model facelift E30? or do you mean from a E36? If you mean those discusting E30 facelift valours, then yes they will fit. I found the E36 seats quite widewhen I had some in a E30 needs custom backets made up though, but Im rangi and only bolted them in on one side, not like I really drove much in it anyway.
  6. ohh yeah of course haha, my mistake. OT - what is online gaming?

  15. Nah I don't think we do have this Tony's place. Went out this morning and found a place, dont worry, only waited an hour to be told the car needs two new front tires, but it was the only place open. So yeah back buiscut wheeling it all over the show. Although I do still have some bottle caps, you reckon they would fit on a 4-stud VW?

  20. Have seen this parked across the road from my house a few time and was nosey and went and had a look. Can vouch for its hotness someone should snatch it up quick nothing is quite as cool as Bmw individual coloured cars!
  21. Save yourself the hassle and get the locksmith to make one
  22. I've seen a 325e on the shore so I dont see why there wouldnt be a 325iX lurking around somewhere
  23. You shouldnt even need to worry about your insurance if it wasnt your fault I dont think? They will have to souce the eyelids from somewhere, just give them some places offshore where you can get them unless you can get them here? Just stick with it, what they broke has to fixed or replaced. Sometimes its not that simple but yeah stand your ground and dont get walked all over by shoddy repairs etc. Seen that happen too often.
