If they screwed up I wouldn't trust them to fix it But after I get it fixed and if its to do with side sensors, I'll talk to NZI and see if I can get them to give me a credit or something... but its always a pain dealing with insurance
-
And I was the one who built part of their online quote request system... seriously But give them a call I'm sure they'll do a good job. Not sure about the pricing tho.

It was Smith & Smith, but my insurance company (NZI) guarntees their work, so I'm guessing if they stuffed up I should be able to send the bill to NZI

I'm just wondering if its got something to do with glass being replaced on passenger door when my car was broken into last week... maybe they stuffed something up on the side airbag while replacing it.

Just started up the car 15 min ago, and the airbarg light stays on - in fact it switches off after the check, but then it turns back on after about a second. Rang up Team McMillan just now, they are not opened for servicing on the weekend (same story with BM Workshop), and also said in the worst case scenario could cost me up to $6000 to fix! Hopefully it won't be that much, but any ideas where I could go tomorrow to have it checked, as I would like to sort this out asap. Cheers

Might try that as well...

I just couldn't resist anymore, had to go for short 20min drive just now

Yep, sunday was pretty wet... not much fun sitting at home on the weekend

... to go for a cruise, and I'm stuck in the office motivation = 0

Agree with this. MP3s ripped to 360kbps should be more than good for in-car listening.

Portable hard drives nowdays are built tough, so I don't think you need to worry about failures. For example, my iPod which has 20GB hard drive is almost 3 years old, has been dropped onto a concrete floor a few times, I carry it around with me every day, never had a HDD problem.

I recently had a puncture, and replaced all 4 tyres (which were due for a replacement soon anyway) with Falken FK452 225/40/18. These were $350 each, but Discount Tyres shop that I went to had 4 of them that had done 700km, so I got them for $200 each. Pretty sweet deal considering tires were as good as new:) As for the d*ckhead who did that, he deserves to have those nails stuck up his ass.

Lets hope so But at least managed to replace the broken window, thumbs up for Smith & Smith, did the job in about 45 minutes. But it was such a pain cleaning up all the little glass pieces, I was vacuuming for about an hour.

Not sure what sort of insurance body corp has, since I'm renting, don't actually own the place. But in any case I doubt items taken will be replaced by insurance. NZI for sure won't, since those items weren't covered, just spoke to them. I guess there's a lesson to be learnt... don't leave your things in the car. Now what would be cool is if you had tear gas or something similar that would start pumping after about 10secs after alarm goes off

Thanks for the tip, I'll try them. Was just on the phone to insurance, hopfully someone will come today from Smith&Smith to replace the window so at least I can drive around, and then will have to do an assesment for the seat. What a pain... some days its just not worth getting out of the bed

The car is covered by full insurnace, so its just the question of how long it will take to replace the glass and the question is what to do with the passenger seat, it has a few cuts. And there are a few scratches on the door below the window as well. Having dealt with insurance before, it may take a while to fix all this up. And the detector and hard drive are not covered, both of which are less than 6 months old. Well this whole month has been s*** anyway, so it kinda doesn't surprise me that much...

This one unfortunately doesn't. Last time they had a break in here was about 3 years ago. At least the building manager was alerted and saw the guy and gave him a chase, but he got away. Maybe he'll be able to give some sort of description to the police. But as I said, I doubt they'll do anything useful.

Just got woken up by the building manager, saying someone managed to get into apartmant garage and broke into a few cars including mine. Broken passenger window, took radar detector, portable hard drive and even my sun glasses. Oh and there are cuts in the leather on passenger seat from the broken glass. I wish I had caught them doing this, I would've ripped his f***in head off. Police are coming back at 9am to take fingerprints and all, but somehow I doubt they'll do much.
