  1. BTW: It's a cable type arrangement. Hard to source here in ChCh, like bloody hens teeth. May have to convert to manual !!
  2. For E30 87 325i 2 door coupe -drivers side- electric window motor. Been told the gearing is different between 2 and 4 door E30's- (must be a few floating around from race converted cars).

Yep, and a very good age to be at too...

Grandmaster flash an the furious five, Patea Maori Club- Poi yae (sp)?? Cruising round high school with a sheet of lino for random breakdancing. :bounce:
  5. Yeah, especially trees in someone's front lawn. The Allegro was a solid wee bugger, not like modern cars that are designed to crumple. And the air-bag sat in the passenger seat.

Yeah classic, along with LL Cool J. I like all types of music, depends on what mood I'm in. Anything from PinkFloyd to Dido to Outcast, U2 and Boney M to Rage against the machine etc etc... What I don't like is the bullshat American ghetto culture that our youth blindly follow. Hmmm must try that Darkside/Wizard of Oz thing.
  7. Back in the day there was Pong, probably the first TV game. Then Atari was awesome when it came out. Sega master system then the mega drive. Got a PS2 when the price eventually dropped to $1000. Drove a Minardi to become F1 world champion...
  8. I once hit a tree in an Austin Allegro, was wearing a seatbelt, broke my sternum in two places. Better than getting killed or even worse, seriously injured.
  9. Actually, I always belt up in the front seats, but strangely, never in the back-seat. Do you guy's belt up in the back-seat. ??
  10. Ummm, what's a pick-a-part wrecker. ??
  11. That's what I said when I turned 20, all those years ago. Dont fret, you've still got another 10 years before things start going downhill.
  12. Good advice there. Also my brothers Mongoose remote is flippin huge, and takes up too much space in pockets, compared with my Dynatron remote. Insurance companies prefer '3 star' car alarms and over.
  13. Thanks for the explanation. I guess it's good to see younger people getting together with a common interest. There's nothing wrong with being a car enthusiast and joining a club of like-minded people, looks like there's alot to offer there.
  14. Man that's a lot of money, what was the cost of the car. I think the E-30 M3 is the ultimate, closely followed by the Lotus Exige turbo.
  15. Oopps. One of them would be me, wishfull thinking, I must of just had a RedBull...Cost of car 2 years ago $8000 4 Brembo rotors: $430 EBC greenstuff front/rear: $381 Tail light gasket: $56 2 clutch slaves: $95 Clutch master: $56 ECU repair: $343 Intake boot: $76 Wishbone: $222 Window washer motor: $50 Broken dash: $50 S/hd Tyres: $200 All up $1959 in parts. The engine was rebuilt by the previous owner and the car was mint when I brought it, came with Koni shocks on the rear and a fresh respray. I was set to buy a CRX with cams untill I seen this 325. I'm going to add microtech ECU, cage and coil-overs. Seats, harness, new paint etc...
  16. A dyslexic signwriter- classic. (Just taking the piss) Chosenfewnz- never heard of them. I presume it's a car club.
  17. Agreed, the inspection light and service light is a bit of a gimmick. I normally change oil/filter every 6 months, Mobil1. The article Gus mentioned is very good, I've just reset mine. If you pull off the diagnostic cap there are pin numbers on the underside. Good choice of car too. :thumb:
  18. I posted the name of the person who stole my car. He was caught. He owned up to doing it. He appered in court. He was convicted and got a slap on the wrist. He was named in the newspapers. Name supression sucks.
  19. There's some w*nkers about all right. Last year had my 325im stolen out of my driveway, had it warming up while I ducked inside to brush my teeth before going to work. Rang the police straight away. 2hours later they rang back to say they've pulled over the vehicle and arrested someone. Only damage was where they ripped out the cd player, amature job. *NAME DELETED BY MODERATOR* was the dirtbag convicted. A**hole. Also my Bighorn was broken into twice while parked outside my previous house. We need more constable 'A's to sort out some of these people.
  20. I'll give an 'A' for effort. A ton of work has gone into that car. Given me some ideas too.
  21. Nice. Rims look good too. :thumb:

Would be interesting to see dyno figures with those mods.
  24. Nice car, looking sharp in alpineweiss (sp?) In hard cornering do you loose the backend much, with that amount of travel. ?? Ps. How much to certify. It's cost me $250 (grade 1) to certify my 4x4 wheels out at Waterloo rd. (just looking for a cheaper place). I like the rear window sticker too.

Max torque on my 325 is 4000rpm. Max BHP is at 5825rpm. Max torque= max cylinder fill of air/fuel mix. The reason why it drops off after 4000rpm is there's not enough time for proper cylinder fill on the intake stroke. Twisting force is reduced. The proper timing of gearchanging is change at max HP to re-engage next gear at max torque, and drive between those two figures. I'm off topic and away on a tangent now, sorry.
