  1. Put some of these on the car, along with new Brembo plain rotors, about 8 months ago. Heaps better than factory pads and Repco Lucas cheepies. Far less brake and rotor dust. Good fade resistance going down Otira gorge and porter's pass etc. Pads/rotors are lasting quite well too. Haven't raced with them yet though, but with spirited town/country driving they work well. Wouldn't mind trying the Metal Masters next to compare. Greenstuff: $381 front/rear Brembo rotors: $430 front/rear.

Dam nice car. Looks like you've done a lot of work to get it to this stage. Strut braces, where from, how much.

    Idle Fun

This may seem a dumb question but... upping the rev limiter to 7000rpm seems pointless as HP drops off at about 6000rpm.
  4. Wow. One of the nicest E-30's I ever seen. Makes my Delphin grey E-30 look kinda shabby. Are those high back rear seats.??
  5. About 1 year ago I replaced leaking master cylinder and slave cylinder (clutch). Reconditioned master cylinder: $56 exc. Reconditioned slave cylinder: $55 exc. Slave cylinder is leaking again so went to BNT and bought a new one for $40.
  6. I believe it's the Stratiegic Traffic Units (STU) that have the 'quota system'. They opperate differently from normal police. If there weren't several hundred deaths on our roads each year they probably wouldn't put so much effort into speeders, boy racers etc... If we speed we'll sooner or later get caught, simple.
  7. Yeah, thanks guy's. Looking forward to the German GP at Hockenhiem. :thumb:
  8. Yeah you're right, bugger. It's a play on words as my name is William (Will). Might have to think of something witty and clever, or something rational and to the point. :drunk:

  10. It's awesome seeing the F1 cars live, I went to the Melbourne GP this year. Stayed in a backpackers walking distance from Albert park. Cost $2000 for the 1week trip. The speed at which they brake, corner and accelerate is mindblowing. It's hard to believe there'e someone actually in there. I wonder which drivers they will chase...
  11. Just finished the last 10 or 15 years possum hunting/deer shooting on the West-Coast. Jeez do I feel like the odd one out. 16: Doing Silviculture 18: Working in a coalmine 20-: Walking round the bush, flying in helicopter's, jet-boats, carrying bloody heavy loads, deer, possum skins etc... Going through a mid-life crises at the moment and hoping to get automotive trade cert. (somehow)
  12. I see there's one for sale in Fazzazz on Litchfield st ChCh. Carbon fibre/ kevlar body. Flippin nice car, shame about the 'do not touch' sign on it. Sorry can't post pic's.
  13. Yeah they havn't even got the traditional BMW straight line speed. Although coming off from 5 years of Ferrari/ Schumacher domination. This season with all the rule changes designed to create a level playing field, Mclaren and Renault have the jump on the rest. ( Go Kiwi Raikkonen) Bugger about the new jacket, I've got one too, and a cap. They do look good though.
  14. Black rims look as if you should put in a roll cage... :mosh: Hmmmm nice. Otherwise black/ chrome.
  15. Changing times in F1 alright. BMW have offered Williams their new V8 for next season, Cosworth are also making the new V8 engine. Sir Frank hasn't confirmed which engine supplier he'll choose yet. It's interesting what Jenson Button thinks of all this, as he's definatly going to William's next season. He might be better off at BAR-Honda, at least it's a factory backed team.
  16. My 'brake warning light' comes on when there's water in the rear tail-lights.Which I think is a common problem with E-30's. I've orderd some new rubber gasket thingies, pick them up tomorrow.Hopefully that will solve the problem of water in me boot too. Ps. Sorry to dredge up these old posts, but it's a bloody good site you've got here.
  17. I had an air leak on me E30 325 intake hose. It had an erratic idle at umm....idle, which was the air stabiliser valve compensating for the leaking air. Tried the brake-kleen and went over it looking for splits, cracks etc, in the end I just replaced the intake hose ,$76 ChCh BMW, problem solved. Ps. Did Page European fix your engine problems.
  18. Old news now but. The only thing that could've worked was a chicane, to keep the driver's on a level playing field. After all they are pure racer's, and to them a race with restrictions (xtra pit stops, driving for no point's etc..) would be like wearing gumboot's with hole's in them. Pointless. :banghead: I remember reading Chris Amon'a book and he describes Max Mosley, onetime F1 team owner, as a snake in the grass that can't be trusted, backstabber etc... Agree with cainchapman, good on you Paul Stoddart. :rambo: Cheers Will
