Sorry, new to E46 as a whole. Is there a pfl msport? Or are all msport as such the same?

Just need to know what to keep an eye out for

There are a lot of different E46 front bumpers, but for simplicity sake, there are 3 "main" msport ones.

M Tech 1 which come on the PFL sedans

Bimmerforums - The Ultimate BMW Forum

M Tech 2 for FL sedans (almost same as the below one but has the black moulding)

Sale Bmw E46 98 04 3 Ser Mtechm3 Front Bumper For Sale in Killarney, Kerry from TuningParts

and M Tech 2 for coupes (both PFL and FL) no black moulding but has a indent line across it

  2. If you can wait 1 week delivery time you can order from rockauto

I might also be keen to split shipping costs since I’m gonna be placing another order soon.

last two orders took 7 days and 6 days to arrive incl weekends so actually 5 and 4 working days.

    edit:

FCP - 22usd each plus shipping for Lemforder ones

Rockauto - 17nzd each plus shipping for Vaico ones

    https://www.rockauto.com/en/parts/vaico,V202705,control+arm+bushing,7532

Otherwise you can get the poly solid bushes from powerflex but cost a bit more.

N52s have a variable displacement pump, so oil pressure changes depending on what its doing 😕

Yep, and from my research, if I remove the oil pressure sensor to connect the gauge in it's place, then the readings wont be accurate so Ive seen someone say they built a Y adapter to plug both the sensor and the gauge in at the same time.

Have you checked the oil pressure with an actual mechanical guage? That would be my first step.

I have not because 1. I dont have the equipment but also because 2. its not easy to find info on what the "right" pressure should be.

Might need to get some assistance with this.

The Cats and post cat sensors all all about emissions compliance and serve no function beyond that so no surprise its running okay. The pre-cat sensors do all the real work. So I've seen two scenarios here, bad cats (rare)...bad sensors (more common)...i've had multiple O2 sensors fail close together (often due to vibration). If you're otherwise happy with your data , fuel trims etc...then consider just programming/flashing out these fault code as there is nothing to gain by chasing this problem down (unless you want to be sure you're not contributing to NOx pollution!)

    Thanks for the info.

At this stage I am more interested in the other code 30C3. not much info I can find about it.

  6. CCV replaced and now much smoother.

Still does the hiss when i shut the engine off.

Also it seems like the metallic tinny sound is coming from the cats. They were probably ruined from the oil due to being driven with the faulty CCV.

might just get an exhaust shop to chop them out

  7. It all comes down to the previous owner's record keeping and upkeep of services.

Ive seen great NZ new examples with perfect service history and Ive seen rubbish NZ new examples with neglected service and no history.

Totally a case by case situation and NZ new doesnt mean a lot on its own.

Kelvin is absolutely right about NZ new cars skimping out on options though. A lot of NZ new E9X E8X etc cars came without xenons and iDrive (which isnt necessarily a bad thing) amongst other options lacking. Probably because such options cost astronomical prices on top of the basic price.

By contrast, Ive had some great Jap import cars with no history (at least in english) but you could tell it was well looked after even past 100,000 kms.
