  1. I'm spec'ing out Amazon etc options for a M-Tech2 st wheel upgrade -new or used Not Cheap! The 'smaller desirable" diameter ranges are described from 365mm also 370mm to 15inch (384mm). Major part of my own justification deal is better access/legroom so the diameter is the clincher. What is the proper diameter of the "smaller" M tech 2 and is one size fits all wrt the splines or are there diffrent fitting sizes as well? Any local M tech2's in very good nick?? Let me know.
  2. Dumb question perhaps but why is this pearler referred to as "cabbie"?and not convertible?SA factory Baur's were just badged as Cabroilets; (not Baur's) Just wondering if there was a reason......while i DREAM! Priced right or not, there'd be keen interest from those with taste and a few Pounds / Aussie $ to spare!
  3. It does look tidy but I'd be wary of the k's. SA cars tend to have put on mileage (distances) and the Jap link seems suspious. Other than that Baurs have their place; dont look as good but nice with the fixed roof in place an rear foldable down during winter. My E21 Baur had heaps of skuttle shake, this may've been sorted on the E30, not sure if the Baurs have the extra chassis bracing that the full 'verts do.SA nevermade the full 'vert so SA cabriolets were factory and didnt have Baur badge on the B (center) pillar. Shes nice if shes as good as she looks - then $9 'd get u a neat car.
  4. I previously owned an original immaculate 1982 rhd 323i Baur (auto) in South Africa. Magnificent car! Great sound but much more skuttle shake than from my current E30 convertible. I don't have engine, chassis number details but could send some scanned pictures. Perhaps my old car is already on your register. Wish I had brought it with me! I have seen a silver 323i Baur here in NZ (Akl about 6 years ago), I have a 2 pictures of that car too :-)
  5. I'm looking for a hood cover strut - that still works (holds the cover up).Yours still available and works ? text 0275485484 and I'll call.
  6. I'm also keen to join the queue if the "Man from Hamburg" comes through with a keen price. Discount for Bulk... :-)
  7. 333i, now there's a memory! One center air vent made way for an oil temp gauge! My neighbour had a black one, choice was air con or power steering! 1st was down bottom left and he clutch needed a mule's hind leg! 145kw then was the business though she went like stink. Somewhere I have an old Car SA roadtest that I could scan if you're interested?
  8. Anyone have or know where I can get a center hub (outer alloy, black plastic insert and BMW cone) for a std 15inch E30 BBS basketweave?
  9. I'm after a E30 carpet type dashboard cover, they used to be for sale on TM, anyone have any ideas where I can get one from?
  10. Wow! wow and drool! just when I thought I had a rather special E30 'vert (condition and history) I get blown into the cheap seats! So I've already started saving! Never before have i considered straying from "original is best!" but now....? WOW!
  11. What should I expect to get for a set (5) 14icnh bottle Tops off a 89 325 vert? Wheels are in v good cond with minimal scuffs, caps are good but slightly faded and tyres are 75-80% new. trying to re coup some $ on purchased 15inch "weaves" which look awesome - Thanks SirE30! Any ideas??

  14. Cheers, What a pair of E30's !!! The M3 looks super awesome !!Once drove a E36 M3 cab in the UK, being wet country roads it was interesting (read fun!) Love the M325 steering wheel .??, std option? think not, whats it off? The 15inch weaves look great! JD
  15. No wasn't aware of the handbuilt welding, just that the "scuttle shake" of my E30 convert is so much less/better than my 82 E21 cabriolet, BMW musta done their homework. Having just replaced all 4 shocks, some advice to soft toppers - Go firm at your peril !! Solid advice from a seasoned shock man, suggested too firm would ruin the ride ( and shake) of the convert, glad I went with std!! More pix to follow, and I'll try reduce the file size. Cheers JD :-) Edit [bravo]: fixed quote tags.
  16. Cheers, originality rules.. :-)so i'm chasing the factory optionals either 6 1/2 x 14's or first prize, - 7 x 15's to take a 205/55 R 15
  17. Cheers for that,"I think, therefore it hurts" Edit [bravo]: fixed quote tags.
  18. Cheers,Yeah, I've not seen another with hd light covers and would be keen to replace them with new ones - Yeah Right :-) Also agree the Luxor suits the vert, interesting my NZ new doesn't have boot brake light like alota the imports, must be trainspotters clue. Lokking for factory BBS's to add some sparkle!
  19. Shot Ekse.. :-) Pity about the game (I was there), headlight covers were specc'd options when new (I have the original quotes receipts as well as the original "vert" brochure. They are more tired than they look but av had some super glue attention to hopefully give them some years..P.S. Once had the priveledge of having a 333i for the weekend, - 2nd to 3rd would still pull tire smoke !! JD Edit [bravo]: fixed quote tags.
  20. I'm after a set of factory BBS rims for my 89 325 convertible, tyres not neccessary. Can anyone help
  21. I never got over leaving my pristine 82 E21 323i bauer cabriolet behind in Africa, so to cure the fix I recently grabbed her younger sister - 89 NZ new 325i manual convertible, 143kms, 1 elderly lady owner from new with full service records! From 3 to 6000rpm nothing sounds as good!!
