  1. To be able to drive on New Zealand roads your car must hold a NZ Warrant of Fitness (WOF) and registration. Warrant of fitness is a check that goes ahead every 6months on imported cars and every 12 months on NZ New (i think). Costs no more than $40 to get it checked. Registration costs I think around $300, can remmeber. I believe the BMW industry in New Zealand is quite good, a fair number of dealerships around, and BMW's are becoming more and more common by the day. Parts are not hard to source for most models, and there are a also number of wreckers around. If any word to describe the industry, id say sufficent. In terms of getting something done, your able to approach BMW Team McMillan or Jerry Claytons (basically any BMW service centre) and they can give you a bmw pre-purchase inspection which costs around $100 - 125 + GST and takes 4 hours. Its also handy if the owner has a service history on the car, so you can checkup on regular servicing / what major servicing has been done on the car. The Automoble Association (AA) also does pre-purchase inspections but I would recommend you go with the BMW side of things just because they will have a better idea of where to look on bmws in particular.

well they gave me that quote ex. germany, so they have to get some in. How far outa your ballpark is $359+GST ? , as I talked to the guy at Team McMillan and he said he could probably organise a group buy discount.

I caught up with a company that makes an E30 kit kit in New Zealand, they gave me a few rough prices... after askign me where abouts int he country i was from (they in gisborne) ... so he gave me price of $339+GST for a front splitter which I'm told is a iS lip, rear spoilers range from $350 - $500 apparently. Those are the only prices I have at the moment... all fibreglassed stuff... will be getting pics soonish if anyone wants a look. I think I was given the ... Aucklanders pricing. Cheers Andy

  7. E36 manual gearboxes really arent that common aye, it may be cheaper just to sell and buy another or find a wrecked one from turners. Would pay to give a few people a call and just see how much its gonna set you back, expect to be paying at least $1500 - 2000 ... give these companies a holla, www.bmwarehouse.co.nz www.sdeuropean.co.nz www.europart.co.nz all Auckland / Hamilton sources as I dont know welly side very well.

    its a facelift E30 318iS ... between 1988 and 1991 if that provides a quick fix answer ?
  17. yeah i got family down there that have space open for renting ... will give them a holla and see if its free. How many people roughly.
  18. why wouldnt it ... they're both pre-fl 320i vanos engines. Just different years essentially. Although facelift could have been earlier in other countries depending on when it was imported.

which I believe is going if I'm not mistaken ?
  23. Motorsport Wannabee is all that it is! Its ripping off the brand name.. buy genuine... but the real thing ... an m3 not just the badge. There is nothing more embarassing about being a bmw owner than seeing someone with a m-badged automatic. Not to mention fake badges look craptacular! Debadge and drive around without any it looks gud.
