I had some time on my hands yesterday, and wanted to play with the Nikon I bought. Here's how the E39 looks at the moment.

Driving without front bumper. Is this legal?
Smac01 replied to 318Touring's topic in General Discussion
My understanding is it's illegal. However I did that a while ago for a couple of days and it was ok. -
Hey, I have listed my E46 coupe on TradeMe, as it's surplus to my needs. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=409230487 Reserve is $11k on the auction, but $10,500 for you guys. It's well optioned with: - Full black leather - Multifunction wheel with cruise control - PDC - Factory alarm - 6x airbags - Electric memory seats - 142kms Check the auction for more details about recent servicing, and service history. Send me a PM if you're interested. Cheers There are lots more photos on TradeMe:

hey peeps, long time looker first time owner
Smac01 replied to jody's topic in New Member Introductions
Saw this around the other day, looks nice. I want your wheels! Welcome too. -
Hey mate - if you're worried about small paint imperfections, I'd look at this: http://prestige.finishing.school.nz/ Think it's about $900, so a lot cheaper than a wrap. You'd be pretty happy with the results too.

The second one is the rear fog light. You can tell the difference as the green symbol is a dipped beam.

Anyone Know The Full Story On This One...
Smac01 replied to E30 325i Rag-Top's topic in TradeMe discussions
There's definitely something strange - the VIN registered to the car via carjam shows a non-m VIN. (Which doesn't match the shiny riveted one in the photo) WBABE82060EU20688 Think this was the conclusion last time too..... -
Pretty cheap if it checked out ok: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-406829773.htm Carjam suggests its an NZ New 6 speed manual.

Edit - SOLD I have a set of lights off the E46 coupe if anyone needs replacements? They're non-facelift ('00) There are: 2x tail lights 2x orange side indicators 2x front orange indicators $80 for the lot - they're all genuine Pickup from Kingsland
-
Guys, I've got a brand new pair of D2S xenon bulbs I don't need. They're 6000k 99% sure they'll fit any BMW with factory xenons. $40 for the pair and prefer pickup from Kingsland, but can post them. (can take a photo if you need one too)
-
I had to do this to my E39 - remove all the leftover adhesive. Was a painful job because you can't really use a scraper due to the rear demister. Next time I'll pay someone! haha

Does anyone know if the wheel arch trim for an E46 coupe is the same as an E46 sedan? Part #8 here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mo...hg=51&fg=75 Thanks
-
That is trim missing from underneath the bumper. My old man went to look at that car - pretty rough for the price if I recall correctly. Edit: Here is the guide you want to read http://www.ge39.com/files/e39guide.pdf

This is closing tonight, so don't miss out! (currently bidding is only at $160)

Anyone need some cheap tyres? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=402909459 Triangle 225/45/17 7mm+ of tread $120 to Bimmersporters Pickup from the North Shore
-
If you're driving normally, they're fine. If you push it, they'll definitely lose traction easier than higher quality tyres. But as I said, better than Triangles or Clears etc in the wet. Can't imagine MY-01s would be much better to be honest. They're pretty hard themselves.
-
I've had them on an E36 sedan... got them from Johno. To be honest, they're the best in their price range from what I've experienced. They're definitely lacking in wet grip compared to more expensive tyres, but you get what you pay for I guess. The one good thing is they're a lot quieter than other cheap tyres. I'm also about to replace some near new Triangles on the E46 with a pair of these, purely to get rid of the rooted wheel bearing type road noise the Triangles generate.

Guys, I just listed a genuine BMW iPod retrofit kit on TradeMe. It's for an X3 or X5 (E53 or E83). http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=401442995 It's $1 reserve, so chuck a bid on. It's never been on a car.
-
I'd rather find an extra $3k and get this fully spec'd E39 540i: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-400675688.htm
-
That's pretty tight. Looks good though, nice concave on the rear wheels! Edit: I just realised what the car reminds me of - a smiling turtle.... (yes a bit random)
-
True, but $100 reserve is still very low....
-
Just saw these - but they're pickup only in CHCH. Someone get a bargain! http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-...n-399375712.htm
-
Yeah I'd agree with around $20k. As a reference, dad recently paid $17k for an '01 330i Msport with 65kms on it. No BBS / Leather goodies. His isn't a facelift either. Good luck - that's a mint car.

Sold pending pickup.
