Jeff, Z3 wheels will fit an E46, however I don't think the Z3 ever came from the factory with the E46 sport rims? As far as the tyres go, the most important factor is probably how old they are. If they are old, I'd steer away from them because tyres get hard as they get old. To find how old a tyre is, look at the stampings in the sidewall. Here is a link explaining that: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/tec...e.jsp?techid=11 I very recently sold a set of those wheels with minimal curbing, but excellent tyres for $900. Hopefully this helps.

I think the reason HID kits aren't suggested for high beams is the fact that the bulbs don't deal well with being used in short periods. (ie flashing high beams or using them for 5 - 10 secs)

Yeah it was pretty good - needed a few spots of panel and paint if you wanted it to be mint, but nothing too serious. At that price, definitely a good buy and wasn't going to last long!

Nice car mate - I went to check that out on Monday night. It is a previous member's car too. Welcome.

Personally for $685 I'd rather try and get second hand OEM parts. Have you called Ray (HellBM) to see what he can do?
-
Agreed, I ran 265/30 and 235/35.
-
I didn't think so, but double check. Very effective though.

Try Repco home branded wheel cleaner and a high powered hose. Nice buy BTW!

I had 19" wheels on my M-Sport E39 without lowering, and it didn't look too bad. You need to make sure suspension parts are replaced/checked first, because E39s are definitely sensitive to lowering and/or bigger wheels. Mine needed new front control arm bushes after putting the wheels on, because there was a real shimmy at 100kph. Here is a photo for your reference regarding ride height on factory sport suspension:

Cheers for the wheels Johno. Here are some photos off my phone. 18x8 et 35 225/40 18x9 et 35 235/40

That looks like a good buy around the reserve price, but a shame it has no Nav / Cruise control. Someone like Ray (HellBM) could help get you a MF wheel installed though.
-
My understanding is mechanically they are exactly the same. The only difference would be nav/radio abilities. The only benefit to an NZ New car is service history - although there are equally well maintained Jap imports available if you take your time to look for one. (and equally poorly maintained NZ New cars....)

DICE units are great - I've bought 3 off Richard! ^

Right, here are some photos. All tyres have (at a guess) at least 5 or 6mm tread. See the photo. They are matching Falken ZIEX ZE-912. Wheels have some curbing.

I used nail polish remover and a lot of patience.
