  1. today we painted the whole inside/engine bay/boot/doors/bonnett/boot and it looks awesome. On Tuesday the doors and boot/bonnett get bolted on and then on wednesday we paint the whole outside of the car with 3-4 coats. it is looking very cool now. cant seem to upload pics..
  2. Hi all, Well, the beast has had the work underneath finished and the undersealing has been done. The undercoat work on the body is complete and we have started the fianl painting... have a look at these and i hope to have it back together with the bonnet, boot, and doors completed this week and final paint going on next week yay for that.
  3. Hell Yes, but i dont think my car will be ready by then, or even next years... but keen to come.
  4. YAY, we finally got the undercoat on the main body and bonnet, doors and boot lid tomorrow. Then on Tuesday we raise it up and finish off underneath... looking good.
  5. thanks Dave, i was going to ring him anyway. thanks for that. man what a car...
  6. I was driving up towards Albany yesterday avo and in the rear view mirror came this beautiful green beast. A lovely green 635 Alpina B7.. with a plate but cannot remember it. Does anyone know whose it is as i would love to say hi and if possible have a look at it. Nothing like seeing a shark coming at you full steam. mike
  7. we have closed in the old rear windows so i can use a fixed perspex window. the wheel arches have been pushed out and look nice now. It is now time to put the front end back together...
  8. starting the bog work now...
  9. will have more in a couple of days. NOW, i don't know a lot about panelbeating so any comments good or bad about what has been done will be appreciated... I have taken all the chrome off so that each part will be painted in 2pot black. no chrome on the beast at all. The back windows have been closed off so i can use a perspex window in the rear. The front bumper (moulding) has been cleaned and repaired by bumper Replacements. The metal front bumper needs more repair than the titanic. Racelign have welded new mounts underneath for the new sway bars and these will be painted before the bars are fitted. Hopefully the panelwork will be finished this week and the undercoat on. more pics then. I had a new tank fabricated but have no idea how big it is.
  10. got it, here are some pics
  11. well its been a while but it is gettingthere. the car has been sitting at the panel shop in Hamilton since middle of December and they are rocking into it now. here are some new pics... cant load pics...
  12. Hey all, a few things have changed on the car, i have managed to get the following done. Engine/Gearbox - all hooked up with new mounts Radiator - new core and fitted with new mounts Driveshaft - new bits and balanced, new hanger bearing, bolted in half shafts - all new boots and checked out bolted in Brakes - i got some rotors from SD which are off a 740 i think 330mm on front and rear but will need a ring on the front, no calipers yet though. Steering - we remounted the steering column after the roll cage changed the positioning and finally have it together to check positioning with seats in. Suspension - have shown a pic here but we have lowered the rear another 75mm and the front a further 50mm so it has completely changed the look. mighty fine now. Panelwork is coming along but will take a few more days and then off for painting. Then some electrics, and the exhaust, then off for the fuel delivery and ecu. Looking at a Link G4 Atom. Will post more pics after the weekend...
  13. no, it is out at a mates shed at Bombay Hills/Pokeno.
  14. as with most things in life, the next things i need to do requires big nuts (lol)
  15. has anyone replaced the front bushes with nolathene?? had a bit of a look and the ones at the front of the cross member are quite large and my efforts at fitting them have been rather frustrating and ended up looking at them and wanting to throw them out the door... hoping to fire the old girl up in a few weeks so if anyone has done a bit of makeshift wiring just to get it going i would really appreciate a bit of help.
  16. at the same time i have put all new wheel bearings and found a new drivers side control arm, plus fitted the new nolathene bushes to the rear end and have put that back in. just waiting on a couple of replacement nuts and things and i think i can put the wheels back on and at least we can roll it around a little bit. got a whole lot of little bits sorted from Pelican Parts so hopefully they will be here on monday.
  17. well, have donew a bit more. i mounted the engine and box after fitting the flywheel and clutch, and fixed all this onto the front cross member, wheeled it under the car and dropped the car down onto it. all done in about an hour on my own. easiest engine fit i have ever done.
  18. i have painted the motor and box (all black) and i know this is going to bite me in the arse later on, but i love the colour... This will be the blackest of black cars around. The motor and box are together and will be in at the weekend.. so another part will be done of this long rebuild. lots of bits still to get but it is slowly coming together.
  19. great, will do that, thanks
