  1. yup. I'll need to check if I can use your 11 button one instead of my 8 buttons without too much modif. Can you or anybody else advise ?? Thanks R
  2. Hello Brent How much for the ODBC?? R
  3. wise words ... Just payed 1000$ for a rust job, inside cleaning and leather recondition and repair. All is super now and I think I'm looking at at many years trouble free so in the end even if you pay more the first time you won't need to pay again and again and again and ... Now, just need to get the steering wheel swapped and I'll be done.

    Kerbe ramp

sweet. Exactly what I was looking for. Might still do it myself if I can't find something like that in Wellie. Thanks for your help R

    Kerbe ramp

Sure ... How much ?? Is it in Wellie? I don't feel like paying zillions of $ to ship 50Kg of cement from anywhere

    Kerbe ramp

Hola, Here I am with a 20000000$ question. Where could one find a couple of concrete kerb ramps ? Already have 2 but I sometimes end up missing them and climbing the kerb without it and I really don't like the noise of car scraping on pavement
  7. I have done the exact same thing last week and had the same issues That OBC is tough to push trough but when done, whithout breaking anything, it feels so nice. I think with the expertise gained I'm now ready to tackle a whole engine rebuild
  8. It's European . I guess the signal in Wellie is always a bit dodgy. There are some areas where it works very well and some other ones where it's crap. The connector looks ok. Nothing too bad... I'll keep an eye on it Thank you R
  9. yahoo... thanks for the update. I think I'll prove my ignorance and ask you how would I be able to tell if it's japan radio or germany one. the car is not an import but german made and imported as new
  10. Hola, Anybody has one of these things laying around the garage somewhere? I only need the antenna part (number 1) but BMW is not making it any more if we trust realoem. The radio reception is kinda crap now so maybe this will help. Trademe was not helpful for this so I'm hoping you, lovely BMW aficionados, might have a lead on this thing. See below the place where it should go Thanks R
  11. Hola Can I get some feedback here please? Looking to clean/treat/pamper the tan leather seats/dash etc. in my car. What kind of product or product line would you guys and girls recommend. Also I'm looking at doing the same thing with the outside so what kind of products would you recommend for that? The paint is in good nick so I'd like to keep it that way as long as possible. thanks R
  12. Do you have a pic of the one with airbag? Is it for sale.. if yes, how much. Cheers
  13. Done and done. It just needed a bit more muscle. Prolly never been taken out before. Most of the cars I drove were American and as we know they are made out of congealed vomit so my concern about dash material strength are based on previous observation. Got the bulb out and I'll get a replacement from the $tealer tomorrow since Repco doesn't have it. Thanks for all your help. See you around Wellie. R
  14. Hola, I just noticed a strange noise that seems to come from the front of the car (I'm thinking transmission not LSD since that's in the back). No noise while driving so I'd exclude the driveshaft. It's a "clunk" noise that can be heard after I clutch and before I put the stick in gear from neutral (any gear, louder on 1st). Don't know if it's normal or it's one of the bearings, the flex disk or the gearshift linkage but it's pretty heavy sounding (if that make any sense) so the linkage might not be it. It seems to be a bit louder at regular operating temperatures. Can't be heard when engine/transmission are cold. Since it's the transmission and I don't have 1000$ to fix it right now I was wondering if this is normal and I'm just paranoid cuz is a new car. Should I be worried, very worried or extremely worried about this issue? Does is still have a few km's in it before a repair or should I start getting $$ together. Any advice will be welcomed and well appreciated Thanks tech details: 1995 BMW 328is (E36) Manual 5 sp trans. (prolly getrag250G) green
  15. Thanks for the help. I'll get on it today and let you know how it went.
  16. Talked to Fibre New ... they want aprox 400 which I find a bit too much. I'll shop around for other leather places. Might look into a replacement one if it's impossible to find a cheap reupholstering place. Will this one on trademe work for an E36? Looks similar to mine but I'm not sure if it's fully compatible. Any advice?? Cheers Raz
  17. Sweet ride Have fun with it.
  18. No missing pixels as far as I can see. I actually tried taking it out but it's not as easy as all the net DIY posts indicate I'm a bit hesitant to apply too much force on the side clips. I'd be pissed If I managed to break my dash P.S. The bulbs are actually 5$ at Shelly in Wellington, but I think I only need one (for the clock)
  19. Hola, Anybody knows if the clock on the OBC is supposed to be backlit? I can test the computer and the back lights come on for the main LCD but the clock is not very well visible in the day and not at all visible at night. Should I bother removing the OBC to change the LEDs or just suck it up? Any advice ?? Thanks Model : 1995 BMW 328is E36 OBC - 8 button one P.S. I'm also possibly looking for a full OBC(18 buttons) to fit on the car but I'm not positive that all the sensors are already installed. Are they?? I can figure out the harness conversion but not at all interested in installing temp/speed/etc sensors.
  20. Hell no Not yet anyway ... Posted some questions in the appearance board. Hopefully someone knows a good place to get the wheel reupholstered. Looks like s**t. Annoying considering that the rest is in great condition.
  21. sweet ... thanks for all the help. I'd rather not remove the wheel if possible so I'm hoping to get it done without that. I'll look at some of the places you guys recommended. Cheers
  22. Might sound a bit wired but my new 328 came with a electrical taped steering wheel . The leather is pealing and the previous owner used electrical tape to mend it. Of course, it looks horrible specially since the rest of the interior is in very good shape. Would anyone know a place in Wellington that would reupholster (recover) the wheel on the car. I don't feel like taking it apart specially since I don't yet own any tools. Also, are there any other ways of getting this fixed? It's of course not a big deal but I'd love to get it looking good again so any help will be appreciated.
  23. Hello everyone I'm kinda new to this whole scene but since I'm the proud owner of a BMW I thought that a few well informed friends with similar interests is always a good thing to have. Myself - just looking for a car that's fun to drive, fun to be in and hopefully easy to maintain. I live in Wellington so any leads for good shops, parts and fun places to go for a drive will always be welcomed. The car - an E36 328is, manual (of course) ... first one I've personally seen See you around the bend.
