  1. Cheers I'm glad someone saw them before being taken down.
  2. Well ... this is more of a heightened E36 Still lower than stock and slightly lower than the M-Tech that comes standard with the IS BMW's I don't race or track the car and the old suspensions were just too low for daily driving. Before - unknown shocks and springs - not very good setup, uncomfortably low, kept scraping over speed bumps and parking entrances = AVERAGE Now - H&R touring cup setup from Keith - great ride, height comfort and feeling very planted and secure in the curves = AWESOME BTW - if you are looking for a proper suspension talk to Keith at Suspension Progress (forum sponsor). He knows what he's doing. I can testify P.S. If you are interested in the old springs I'm looking to part with them and willing to do it cheaply. They still have life in them. No shocks dough - they were not well paired with the springs and are scrap. Probably better if you are in Wellie or close enough to avoid shipping $$. I can provide pics on Monday as they are at the garage. PM me and we can arrange something. If no one is interested I'll put them on TradeMe. Cheers. R there you go Glenn Since I had photoshop open I shrank and posted a few more
  3. Thank you Keith, Great setup at a great price. Also, great to deal with someone who knows what they are doing. BTW - You were right, it does feel like a new car, love it Cheers Raz
  4. sweet as bro I bet it has that new suspension smell
  5. Sweet... That's all I needed to know. Thanks mate R
  6. ***Off topic*** Just a side note for the forum admin. I'm unable to upload pics Keep getting following error: "Error Upload failed. Please ask the administrator to ensure the uploads directory is available" I'm getting this at work and at home, on different browsers and operating systems. Anything I'm doing wrong ?? Any ideas?
  7. Not sure that will solve much since the shocks are battered to hell. They are Bilstein (F) and Boge ( so they might be rebuildable but I have no idea where I could go for something like that or if it's cheaper than getting new ones. I will be getting springs also but not sure from where since I don't want to pay dealer/store prices. Any good places you might know in Wellington ?? Cheers R
  8. Hi Glenn ... I was actually hoping for something a bit higher than that. The car is too low now and I keep bottoming out on speed bumps, parking entrances and the like ... very annoying. The underside of the front bumper is a mess and the muffler shield is looking less than great Since I don't really plan to track/race the car a touring setting, I believe, might be closer to what I'm looking for. Originally, the car had M sport suspension which is low enough for my needs and driving style. What would you recommend that is close to that? I'm willing to loose 10-15 mm past that but not more otherwise I'll be back to what I have now Thanks for any suggestions R
  9. Hi guys, I was hoping for a little more input on this. I have done some research and decided that a full suspension kit will be the best choice for simplicity and price. Would you agree with that? Can I come out cheaper if I get the individual parts (shocks, springs)?? I'm looking at a H&R or Bilstein with the touring setup as I don't want my car that low. Has anyone used either of them, what can you tell me? Where did you find them, how much?? Are there any other brands or setups you would recommend?? Thanks R
  10. Thanks Glenn, I thought about that but I'll need more info on this. In my mind I was either getting a very good set of shocks second hand or a good one new. Never thought about the springs. Not sure if the shocks are still in good enough shape to be worth keeping. I'm willing to pay a bit to get something decent. It's been expensive changing all of the bushes and ball joints so I'm keen to get it done well from the start to avoid this kind of expenses in the future I'm in Wellie so if you or Keith can recommend someone to see it would be good. I have a good mechanic so I'm more interested in getting the right parts. Thanks for the input Glenn. Keep'em coming guys. Cheers R
  11. Hello folks, I'm in a position where i need to change my shocks a bit before their time. They are too long for the springs currently on the car (don't ask, not my doing) so ... in bad shape and so were all the bushes and ball joints. Those are changed now so it's time for the shocks. Believe the springs will have to stay so now I wonder what should I get as far as shocks? I'd like to go with the stock Bilsteins, but I'm not sure I can find shorter ones to fit the springs I was told that the Boge ones are good but again not sure on size. I could add some spacers with the current springs and use stock M ones or any of the ones above At this point having more comfort looks more and more interesting. I'm willing to raise it a bit... having looked under and seen the damage done to the underside. I always believed that it was the stock M Technics suspension but I have my doubts now Car - 328is E36 1995, M suspension with 17' with 235/40ZR17 Anything else you need to know please ask. Cheers R
  12. Hello I'm after a LAMP LENS LEFT BOSCH 63128363077 for a E36 328is 1995 It's for the passenger's side. I've attached a few pics for clarification. RealOEM code - LAMP LENS LEFT BOSCH 63128363077 Cheers R
  13. 4 and 11 are good. I guess they are all sweet... I guess it helps having a good model Congrats on the purchase... nice one ... I might consider an E30 if I could find one that good.
  14. Hello guys The issue - the driver's seat is not folding forward to allow access to the back seat. The car : E36 328is - coupe The latch seems to be disconnected from the innards of the seat. Bentley manual not very clear on disassembling the seat's back to access them. I have no idea how this happened since the last time I used it was a while ago. Any recommendations would be welcomed. Thanks R
  15. For panel beating I'd recommend Tidy car in Wellington: 16 Haining Street Te Aro, Wellington 6011 (04) 384 2689 They have done some outstanding work on my E36 The guy who sold me the car used a mechanic here in Wellie but I can't tell you anything about them yet. I'm going for an inspection and a WOF next week so you'll get my 2c then. Peace R
  16. I think it was the original one ... HA !!!Yup ... they're white, at the beginning I would recommend it. Easy to do but the filters are bloody expensive. I paid less for an engine air filter which is twice the size. Oh well ... needed doing. Good luck with that. Cheers R.
  17. FILTER CHANGED AND ALL IS GOOD !!! WE HAVE AIR Thanks for all the help everybody. Hope this will help someone else also
  18. REPCO wants a bit over 70 and the $tealer is over 90. Called a few other places in Wellie and all is around the REPCO price. There might be cheaper options but I couldn't find them If anyone knows a good cheap place for BMW parts in Wellington please share Peace R
  19. You guys are the best Took the filter out and tested: much better Here is a RHD microfilter replacement DIY : Also took some pics when I did it. Very easy indeed for RHD. 1. take panel out 3 screws and slide out 2.take the vent tube out (might not be necessary but makes things easier if you're not a small person) 3.look for this towards the back 4. slide the mother out and marvel at the dirt coming out with it. BRING VACUUM Good luck. If I was able to do it, anybody can in 10 min or less
  20. I can hear noises from inside when changing positions and I can feel a little bit of air at the feet if I close all the dash vents I'll replace the filter and let you know how it went. You guys rule !!! Thanks
  21. Thought that might be one cause but I was unable to find more on it. Any links to more info on that (DIY steps etc.) ?? Thanks heaps
  22. Hello folks, I'm looking for a few opinions on this. The ventilation in my car (E36, 328) is blowing almost nothing at any of the fan speeds. At 1 and 2 there is nothing (just a little bit of fan noise), at 3 there is noise and very little air and at 4 is the same thing, just louder. The fan seems to work but I can't really tell if it's too weak to push the air or there is a loss somewhere in the system. I'm ready to change the resistor pack hoping this will fix the issue. There are some step by step instructions on the net but I'm not sure which side to start on since I don't know if the example is LHD or RHD. Could anyone help? Any of you encountered something like that? Can this also be an issue with a blocked ventilation outlet, valve, etc, etc, Any ideas or recommendations?? It's getting a bit annoying having to wait an eternity till the windows defog or not being able to cool off on a hot day. I'm open for questions if more info is needed. Thanks R
  23. Had a look ... not too bad after all. To close to Christmas now so money is low but if it's still available next year I'll look into it. I'll send you an email. BTW ... the steering wheel went and the other one will go on the car before it's out of the garage.
