Hey all its just little old me, Purchased my beemer only a few days ago and its my first one but i have always wanted one. Its a 1996 323i with the M sport body kit on it or so i have been told. For me its like driving luxury comapred to what i used to drive but i won't go into that as its long gone now so its just me and my beemer from now on , Oh and if u really must better throw the missus in there as well , Anyway here are some pics of my new pride and joy i know there are probably thousands of them around but this ones mine and thats what makes her so special to me.

Can anybody point me in the right direction of a good bmw wrecker in chch - might be able to pickup a cup holder from there.

Thanks for the tip, I would say you are spot on as it is a Jap import and has just the half leather seats (cloth on the arse and leather sides). I would say its the M bodykit as it does have the ///M logo on the trunk. For me anyway its a friken palace to what i used to drive - I will post some pics up this arvo when i get some time. You are also right with the empty container as thats whats there , Might be worth me checking out the wreckers as could do with a cup holder in the center if they have any.

Thanx's for the reply's guys as for smoking i do because i have an ex wife and 3 kids thats enough to make anybody smoke , Will have a look at swaping the ashtray in , Thanks for the pic on that although mine does not have an armrest thing and is an auto. I am going to take it into the service dealer tomorrow to get the proper low down on this remote central locking thing and to be honest i don't know if the car has an alarm or not. This brings me to a question that will no dout get me shot. Since i have gotton my shiny car i have been looking around the net for info and have been slightly confused with all the different models etc , Will upload some pics of it tomorrow after i get home from work. All i know is its 1996 323I and from my understanding its a m sport model would this be correct it has the factory spoiler on the back with what i think is the factory body kit all round its got the small diagional strips on the back and side with the letter m next to them. My old car was state of the ark so moving to this is like getting in a rocket ship.

Hey all i just recently purchased myself my first beemer its a 1996 323i m sport and i have a couple of questions i was hoping i could get answered. When i got home i realized the central locking via pushing the buttons on the key (remote) did nothing, so i took it back to the dealer and left it with them for the day. When i went to get it they said they took it to the bmw dealer here in chch and they scanned the car but could not find the chip the key transmits to the dealer (who i got it off of) says that at some stage the windscreen has been broken and replaced and hence there is no chip behind where the rear view mirror attaches to the windscreen and hence this is why when trying to remote unlock nothing happens. Is this the case or are they trying to pull a fast one on me because it would cost to much to fix the problem, looking at the windscreen and it has the bmw logo on it in the corner with a serial number on it and if i look at all the other windows on the car the numbers all seem to be sequential ie windscreen is say 5001 and front passenger window is 5002 and so it goes on around the car so i am wondering if the windscreen has ever been replaced at all. The other thing is i am a smoker but there is no ashtray in the center console upfront but seems to be one at the back of it for the passengers and its a pain in the arse to try and bend ya arm around and use it. Did they ever have an ashtray up front ????
