  1. The server is actually two virtual servers, one is a web server the other does the database. They were transferred in full (they are a single file) and came back up fine.

I have noticed some weirdness since updating the server with all the security patches etc following the move, like emails are not working and sponsors logo's not showing on the front page.

I don't have time to look at it until Thursday night but I have a feeling some of the rewriting in URL's in broken which would explain why Glenn can't see his old threads via the old style URL and why the link to the sponsors logo image isn't working even though the image exists at the path specified.

Priced sharply at $19995 start price I am putting up my BMW M Compact up for sale. I would continue developing this car as it has massive potential given how quick it is already but I have made the move to race single seaters by buying a Swift DB4.

  3. Bimmersport went down around 4am on Saturday because there was a powercut at Hampton Downs which is where it has been hosted for the last couple of years, the UPS kicked in but when it eventually died it seems a lot of things got a voltage spike. The routers became corrupt and I lost a lot of hard drives.

I have spent the last day trying to recover what I can but I am pleased to say bimmersport is back from the dead, albeit running from my home internet for now.

Please put up with it being a bit slow until I find a permanent place to host which will be this will be Monday/Tuesday.

  4. Is there such thing as a generic muffler that sounds alright, doesn't drone violently and comes in a 2 in 2 out configuration with diameter of ~2.25"?

I have a standard S50b32 motor, headers and mid section, but I need to get the back section and since no one replied to my other WTB thread it looks like I will have to go new.

I have found a E39 M5 Supersprint (Left) muffler might be my best bet at ~$1100nzd shipped + fitting, but then I see generic mufflers for the $100-400 range and ask myself is it really worth it importing a brand muffler, surely there must be something local that will give a decent sound for much less money spent.

Has anyone tried anything from the adrenalinr muffler range?

  5. don't think M3 will fit in the back... if its the same size as other E36?

M3 requires modding to fit a compact as its to long, so would be used as something that would be cut to fit.

Maybe I am better just getting an exhaust shop to make something custom at the back, just worried it will cost a lot and sound sh*t.

  6. On the look out for a E36 M3 Exhaust Mid Section for a S50B32

I currently have a 3" exhaust but don't like the sound it makes on the road, so want to swap to a dual 2.25" or similar exhaust.

Failing that, anyone know what it would cost to reproduce somthing like the below? It works out to be ~$1000nzd plus tax shipped.

  7. You know you're good when you can do your optimum, 2 tenths is my closest, normally about 4 or 5 tenths off tho.

Yeah, I was having heaps of problems reliably getting the power down, so couldn't get anywhere near my optimal.

Just realised I never posted my Friday testing video up to this thread, since the below video I made some tweaks which dropped my optimal from 1:12.7 to 1:12.2, but still couldn't get a lap together and the added pace just made the tyres even harder to manage.

My biggest problem was getting the power down out of the sweeper as you can probably see from the first clip :)

  8. Can you detail what you did to the motor when you rebuilt it?

Is it stock m3 cams etc?

It's almost 100% OEM S50b32 except I added uprated valve springs so that if I ever choose to upgrade the cams I don't have to pull the head apart. Since I have vanos, all the trickery is in getting the ecu tuning right.

Nice work. I had a few people comment to me since you where out there on Friday about this "little fast white BMW" hahaha

If you decide to do another enduro and need service crew just let me know and will do my best to get down there.

It was part of the doing everything, but will keep you mind for next time.
