I now realised the problem. I was toggling with the various audio/video option and had the TV on for almost an hour with the engine turned off. I left the car unlocked overnight and noticed P light on the gear shift handle was on for the entire night. I suppose there are also devices that were not turned off when I had the door unlocked. Gave the battery a full charge and problems went away.

Gave the battery a full charge and problems went away. Thanks all. I would not have realised it was the lack of sufficient battery power that caused these erratic behaviour.

On Friday, the car won't start... AA did some test and found the battery faulty. Suggested battery replacement. Sent the car to Jeff Gray, they did some test on the battery and said battery was tested ok. Battery is at 78% charge. (Was charged $30 odd for some battery test/check). Took the car home and left it in the garage since. On Sat evening, had problem starting the car again. There were clicking sound when I attempted to crank. Had to jump start the car. Would this be a battery fault, starter or alternator?

Hi Jochen, thanks for your help! the procedure didn't work. I pressed Traffic button but it didn't go into service mode. I tried Select button, that didn't work as well. Did this with engine started, position I and position II. I could only select traffic 1 & 2, it didn't go into service mode. TV is perfect!! The only problem (or I should say safety feature is as soon as the vehicle is on the move, it switches off automatically) Yes, please tell me how to enable TV when car is on the move..... and how do I connect ipod video to it?

the rubbery part of my key is damaged but the lock and unlock button still work fine. Jeff Gray said they can't replace the rubber part and they've to order a new key which cost $400 Does anyone know of alternatives... all I need is to replace the (black) housing potion of the key. Thanks

This morning, ABS, Brake and ASC telltale lights were turned on after the car was started. I drove the car for a short distance, pressed the ASC button the the lights went off. Anyone had similar experience? Car: 320 2001

Thank you !!! you are such a STAR!! Managed to set the language to English, turned TV turner to PAL and it worked! TV reception is crystal clear. Where can I find service mode? Toggled with various options but can't locate service mode. I would have thought it's under main menu-set? Under the main menu, I've 1. On Board Computer 2. Nav 3. Telephone 4. Set 5. TV 6. Monitor Off

there's isn't a M button on this system unlike the rest... I'll try Mode button assuming it serves the same purpose and post the result here for future reference

My car comes with this Nav monitor that controls CD stacker, radio. There's also a DVD Nav system in the car boot with a DVD disc titled 'BMW DVD Navigation System' in English Unfortunately the interface on Nav monitor is in Japanese.
