  1. Hi there,

I need to have my e36 Coupe headlining re-done in the factory Motorsport black / anthracite fabric.

I'm in Christchurch, and wondering if anyone can recommend an auto trimmer here that could do the job using the correct type of fabric (colour and thickness). Would ideally like to have a finish as close as possible to the factory finish (the "A" and "C" pillars are good, so would look to keep those untouched)

Alternatively I would be interested if anyone knows of a NZ or international source that I could contact for purchasing a couple of metres of the genuine OEM fabric, and I would have a go at doing it myself (using the correct 3M adhesive etc)

    Cheers

    Paul

  2. Hi there,

Sorry - not a BMW parts question, but just wondering if anyone here knows of an Audi S3 being parted out that has some front end parts available - Bumper, xenon headlights, radiator support panel. radiator, AC condensor

Parts are for a 2003 8L version (facelift 2000 - 2003 model). Some of the parts may be the same as a standard A3

Any pointers would be appreciated. Would consider any UK or other overseas sources also.

    Many thanks

    Paul

  3. Hi there,

I have a new (blank) ABs / DSC controller for my 2000 e38 740i, and it needs to be coded to the vehicle. Also probably need the steering angle sensor re-calibrated. I have a mate that had the same job done on his e39 through the BMW dealer, and it was around $250 - $300 to code. Seems a little on the high side given that the dealer in Dunedin can apparently do it for around half that figure, and it doesnt take too long to do.

Just wondering if there are any indie shops (or keen DIY'ers!) in ChCh that have the proper gear / software (GT1 / SSS / Progman, or whatever it is) to be able to do this for a reasonable price.

    Any advice greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

    Paul

  4. Gidday. My loss your gain? If a nice e39 project or donor car is what your're considering, please make me an offer on mine> http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=584886091

    cell: 021 471 606

    Cheers.

I hope you give that vendor some bad feedback!

Seems very unlikely that a car can be sold in "good condition" then cracks a head a few days later...

Good luck - hope you manage to get a good price for it (although you would probably make more by parting it out - if you had the time / space / patience!)

  5. Hi there, I am after an air intake rubber pipe that fits between the MAF and the throttle body for an e36 1994 318i with the m43 1.8L single cam engine. After one in excellent condition with no signs of perishing etc. Thanks!

  6. Sold for $16300 from memory, I thought that was a good price, but there is a similar one at a North Shore dealer for similar money so yep. Sign of the times!

"Sold" for $16,300, then offered to watchers a few hours later for $17,500. A sure sign that a mate was boosting up the bidding...

  8. Hi,

I'm after an interior door card for the drivers door of a 2004 e60 5 Series. Black "Dakota" Leather, and wood trim, although the wood trim part is not too important as I can swap this out. If anyone knows of an e60 being wrecked that may have one of these, please let me know.

    Thanks

    Paul

  9. Hi, has anyone looked at this 540i for sale?

    540i

I would be interested to hear an opinion on how tidy it is on the inside, how well it appears to be looked after, and how it drives. It's a South African import, which I have heard is not such a good thing? although it came to NZ only after about a year after manufacture.

I drove a NZ new 1996 model in Christchurch the other day, and it had done "only" 170km, but it wasnt a particularly good example - felt a bit tired, which I wasn't expecting for it's relatively low kms. (my "clocked" jap import 525i showing 170km drove way better)

    Cheers

    Paul
