The yellow macca in wellington would have to be up there.
Shame that XP4 (sorry, I'm a Mclaren anorak) got sold overseas - it was the car that originally set the speed record of 231.8mph.
Anyone else read that F1 LM's are now valued at over 14million NZD? f**k me that is appreciation - nearly a 5 fold increase in value over 12 or so years
theres a guy my dad knows somewhere near auckland with one of denny hulmes original can am cars thats gotta be worth sh*t loads i have seen it at his house before but i was young enough to not take note of how special it was

hey guys
im trying to sell my honda so i can repay the overdraft that just got me my bmw
does anyone know of any car fair type areas in hamilton preferably on sundays
or just places were lots of people park up to sell their cars
thanks guys
-
I would get that checked...could be a number of things causing that
yea im pretty sure im catching it early as its usually not noticable
but after being warned how much a failure on these cars can cost ive been on the lookout for anything that could be a hint of anything wrong
i will prob get it serviced in the next couple of weeks as im changing jobs so holiday pay coming my way
-
thanks this is all very helpful
i was told it could be quite expensive as they have to do manual adjustments in the gearbox to account for wear in the parts and that takes alot of time. is this true
also the reason i want to get it serviced is because if you very slowly increase throttle when stopped just as the torque converter starts to transfer power it shudders slightly under intial acceleration kind of the feeling you get when you have a misfire but as you put a little more power down it comes right

Hillcrest Auto Services in Hamilton which is pretty close to you im guessing .
Owner is an Ex BMW mechanic and still serves alot of his old customers. Knows his BM's very well.
thanks
does anyone know how much i would be looking at paying
-
Possibly this? http://www.redbook.co.nz/vehicle/specs.php?id=2860
thanks yes thats what i was looking for
although its interesting that it says its a 8 cylinder with 6 valves per cyliner lol not quite
a 48 valve V8 even bmw doesnt have the skill for that

Just recently ive been heading into pikapart, for my poor wee toyota that is packing up at the moment, and out of curiousity i thought id head to the bmw section, and WHAT A SHOCK HORROR, it is AMAZING to see whats been put to waste !!!!!
Any one else came across some thing and gasped
2 Door Manual e30, Nothing has been touched, in pretty good nick too, just looks as if its dereged, what a waste
a manual e34, hasnt been touched. also good nick. also, what a waste.
So if anyones gunna want cheap manual conversion parts for the e34, or the 2door e30, pikapart tauranga is where its happening
i remember at one stage this year there were three good nick 7 series there 2 x 735 and a 740
although now that i need bits for one none to be found
of all the pick a parts tga must be the best
would have been good if they made one in hamilton but they got refused resource consent

hey guys
i have a 1992 750iL

thanks

MR E34.
wow thats awesome looking
-
hmmm i cant find anything about a 1992 750iL
anyone know the list price on this
-
Noooooo. paint it black will looks 20 times better in my opinion.
Awesome car by the way! Hope it serves you well, And to think only 16 years ago that car was proberbly in excess of $250,000!
yea i have had the same opinion from a few other people
so would probably go black and for the fact that its uber hard to find crinkle red paint these days
i might get a can of satin black and paint the rest of the plastic like fan shroud etc
although i havent had a good look at it it might come up nice with some armorall
as was posted earlier the yellow comes from the factory coating
was it yellowish from factory ?? or just tarnished that way
-
hey guys found these 17" semislicks on trademe
two are on bmw wheels two plain
but being sparsly worn tyres this is a ridiculously low price i would get them but got no free money
-
also one of the main problems im facing is the key is one of the spring loaded flick out ones
but has been broken so i only got given the metal piece from inside it which is annoying as theres very little piece to hold and leverage is crap
can anyone tell me whether i could just replace the plastic piece or would i need a whole new key
if i got a new key is a bmw dealership the only place to get them and how much can i expect to pay for one
thanks
-
the yellow stuff is actually a protective coating applied by the factory, called cosmoline. There are some realy good resources for the e32 750 this guy in particular.Dont be confused by the e 34 forum. The e32 and the e34 have a lot in common.
thanks he seems to have a vast knowledge
i was thinking of either cleaning the yellow off and re clear coating them to look like plain aluminium (not polishes)
and i was also thinking painting the center plastic cover either crinkle red or black keeping bmw symbols and the other silver pieces

I have the E32 Bentley manual in scanned form, its 68mb thou

Likewise I was watching this one-Think you got a good buy.
As Simon said-the ultimate cruiser.
Welcome.
thanks
anyone know where i can get a good repair manual online that i can download
-
Yeah was watching that one too to see what it would go for, came up just after i got mine.
How much did you get it for if you don't mind me asking?
I got the same alloys as you and i quite like them. Should start a 750i club
just over $2k
im looking at some some bigger mags as these dont do it for me
i might ask the guy in auction number #184943986
if he will sell wheels seperatly
-
Cool mate!
The ultimate luxury cruiser
Welcome along
thanks i really want to take the intake manifolds off polish them and give them another clear coat so it gets rid of the yellow tarnish and looks as good as it did from factory
