so worldwide the highpressure fuelpumps on the 135i, 335i, 535i on like roughly 2006+ models have been failing.
Being the second owner of the car, am I still eligible if a recall is issued for this component or even any components of an affected car?
How do you check if there are any recalls on your vehicle do you just call a local dealer?
-
Slightly off-topic but still about the car... How much would an exhaust mod like that cost?
remus quad exhaust is around $1000USD
So you convert that to NZD, add shipping to NZ, add taxes on the goods + shipping, gst, customs duty etc
Probably be looking at around $2500 NZD
Then you also need a bumper change or if you want a cheap crap job, cut a hole in the right side of the bumper to fit the exhaust
But if you want the new bumper probably another $200+ at least on top
so yea not the cheapest
edit: LOL didnt even see the post above by the previous owner before making my post, good to see I was on point with my estimates

60,000KM + 2007 (3 Years Old) so should be like what 2/3 the price now ?
Brand new its like 120grand?
If you got it down to 59grand you'd have a bargain lol
lol @ rjs how many times man, once a week for weekend fun yea?
in general, bargains don't come along often
I've followed Mercedes CLK coupes in the 2004-2006 range for the past 6 months and there was only one true bargain which was a Black CLK 320 with low mileage that was on trademe a few months back for around $36,000
It sold within 2 weeks
Anywho give it time, the longer the dealer takes to sell it the more they'll be inclined to talk bizness
-
LOL dejay how do you feel now knowing that RJS has had a test thrash of the car
-
wow im suprised the actual previous owner would be on the forum let alone another person with a 2004+ bmw lol
for reference my 135i averages 11L/100km, same engine, lighter car
check with the previous owner what exhaust modification he's done on the car
you better hope its not a chop shop job
-
Oh is that over the phone, thought it was on their website, i found the performance grilles on the bmw nz website but no pricing.
Oh well no biggy I guess
Piece of plastic in the end
-
lol dam. served.
whered you grab that pricing from?
-
yea black metallic
-
yea
plus some people mix n match puttn black outer rims & chrome inserts
might experiment n see which looks best
problem with black on black is the risk of seeing nothing at all lol making it effectively pointless
-
looked into that a few months ago when I was still deciding
but last I heard he was overseas so I didn't look into it this time
regarding price, wrapping gloss black would come out more expensive but has benefits
will see how this goes anyway
-
fabulous. good advice amigos
I went ahead and bought one off ebay.
Should be here by the weeks end
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...sid=p2759.l1259
Came to 119USD, Grille 69, Shipping 49
So 168NZD
Probably still cheaper than BMW Performance from dealers
-
looking for black grilles for the 2008+ E82 1series Coupe
anyone know where I can gettem.
not interested in paying megabucks to get it from the dealers BMW Performance range
-
bangin
lol who buys exhaust from the dealer?
Best 3 options are
1. Buy from the online OEM websites if you want brand new
2. Find someone selling on a forum and get it even cheaper
3. Buy aftermarket
-
Someone should invest in it seriously.
Just got back from australia.
It's like numberplate heaven.
They have Gold On Black, Silver on Black, White on Black, Black on White,
Shape wise they have Slim plates, square plates (eg 2 letter size), normal plates, Euro plates
It's crazy. They have such a wide selection they put new zealand to shame
Anyone wanna start a plate business

Just thought I'd open a discussion on insurance and some of the common points the insurance companies try to void your insurance on (in order to avoid paying out claims in a crash etc)
If you have a story on a voided insurance / non payout feel free to share
-
leave it to vag boys? lol
Think even BMW disagrees with you guys on this one
-
thats harsh dude
i worked in an insurance company once, not in claims, but i was seated near them haha
they were always discussing ways to cancel peoples claims / strategising
heck I even heard a story about a 70 year old man who's wifes health insurance claim or something was denied.
He was so distraught he showed up at the company office ready for a punch up lol...
-
debadged here. don't like advertising for car makers personally
-
On another note
Has anyone actually read the laws on number plates?
I had a decent read and couldn't find anything about plates having to be issued by LTSA or anyone or having to have a hologram
All i recall was reading that it needs to be black on white, reflective plate etc etc..
If someone would care to confirm that'd be nice

loooooooool instantly reminded me of bimmersport

What happens in an Internet car forum

anyone recommend a car wash spot in auckland?
Car-fe have hand wash/wax + vacuum for $30
Any others
-
here's another in white
don't think white'll go well on a black car though.
Might just go with a darkish blue, next step is figure out who to take it to..
Who and how much for resonator removal?

Woolf fitted the exhaust I bought elsewhere
Quite hilarious
Both times I went there they were telling me how half their business is from asians bringing in M5s m6s AMG Benzes and Audis to cut out the exhaust cats/resonators and make them louder LOL
and they all sound absolute crap afterwards too
strongly recommend not simply cutting it out.
pay some money and get an aftermarket replacement
