I would be happy to to help too if anybody needs it:)
-
I would actually be interested in the same thing.
-
What made you think my seats are in bad shape?
-
Oh right, any particular reasons? Your post seemed ok I think.
-
Where did polley's comment go??
-
They all tend to weld the water passages and o ring the head with using factory head gasket advising against metal gaskets mostly, this thread however is a complete opposite so far.
-
Also please feel free to suggest good rods and pistons. Crunchy, thanks for the rod suggestion, I'll check them out tomorrow!

Let's not start an argument here. 1st of all I'm pretty sure I haven't said anything about "warehouse" budget. 2nd I'm trying to not to spend too much where it is not needed e.g. turbo, therefore I created this thread to see what advices I can gather, now have a look at first page and then compare it to the second page. I might be bit blind, but there wasn't much there about aftermarket rods or pistons. Now if anybody still feel the need to put something in this thread could you please look at first posts with questions and try to discuss on them. 3rd I'm not at all saying that stuff you guys, I'm not putting new rods and pistons in, I'm still listening to what you are saying, it's a first serious build for me so please be considerate:) It also is not easy to adjust my build to new incoming advices as for example I nearly ordered new bearings already, where if I'm using aftermarket rods I'd have to go for different bearings, so if there's anything else on your minds that hasn't been mentioned yet, but you think it's essential please post it so I can adjust the ordering etc asap to not make silly decisions. Thanks a lot for input so far, you guys been great!

Yeah you guys have a point, but It's going to get in a differet budget league quite soon if I go for anything other than holset, so might as well stick with them for the time being. Regarding the 400hp mark, it's just an indication of the sort of maximum power I would be hoping to get, not aiming for anything more than that. Regarding the rods and pistons, I don't think it's worth going for aftermarket ones for my goals really, so definitely not going there. I've only seen melted pistons and only couple bent rods and all that mostly due to bad tuning. Put it that way, I'm not going to keep pushing it until i get 400 hp at the wheels, I will still be going by best curve i can get and by how i feel driving it more than anything. Thanks guys

But is it worth it going to the hx40 over h1c?
-
Was loose bolts inside of the diff
-
The hx40 that i have is the 8 blade one, which apparently is the least flowing
-
Had a listen last night, even put myself in the boot haha. Can anyone tell what does the buggered cv sound like?
-
Well it would be nice to get 400hp at the wheels, but first of all I know it's a bit unrealistic and secondly I would be more interested in the torque than horsepower, so I started leaning towards hx40 since it delivers more air compared to the h1c and I don't think the spool up difference is dramatic, therefore it seems more efficient to me at this stage. Regarding future mods, I'm not sure what sort of mods you mean, I just want to build it once and do it as good as possible the first time. Please feel free to suggest anything.

Can anybody please shed some light on the turbo choice? I'm leaning towards the h1c to get the earlier spool up, but from what i read on the forums the hx40 isn't much worse either, any of you guys tried them? Crunchy?

Take me for a drive tonight, we'll try to see what it is
-
Bump. Also have a brand new set of front brake pads for e30.
-
Megasquirt PNP ecu. The turbo housings from what I could find are: HX40 is 16sqcm and H1C is not clear, on outside it says 18.5sqcm, but inside, where holsets usually state the housing size on the H1C it says 18, so I'm not 100% sure if it's 18 or 18.5. Hope that clears few things up. Thanks guys.

Any more thoughts?
-
The whole reason of the sale is to free some space, so I really want to sell the seats complete.
-
Bump, replace your old ripped seats
-
Will you have these after new years?
-
I got one if you are in christchurch
