  3. The last few posts have really hit the mark. Below is what not to do when lowering a car. I use to have a Pulsar Gtir a while ago. It was pretty standard. Just little 15s and lowered on kings. It would handle pretty good, just a bit of understeer at corners at high speeds. Anyway, I managed to get some 17" chrome raptors for just over a grand. 17" chromes were the 'in' thing then. I didn't wanna spend a grand on adjustables but I wanted it low. So guess what? I cut two coils of my kings springs. I wanted it that low. It went low alright. I loved it. I couldn't even turn the front wheel to its stops. I had to go really slow around roundabouts. It bounced on every little hump on the road. Well as time went by, the costs went up. Every two months I would have to change the front tyres. It was a waste of time getting a wheel alignment because as soon as I got one done, it would go of when the car went thru turns. When i went to sell the car, I found out all the cv joints were damaged and the shocks were history. I learnt my lesson. If you gonna lower the car really low, make sure you do it properly and have the money to cover for any extra costs. I knw you are probably thinking we are giving u sh*t for no reason, but its ur safety and ur money at the end of day. The reason we are saying this is because we have been down that road and it was not worth stuffing up ur car and risking ur or someone elses life.
  4. yea good idea, boost, thanx heaps.
  5. another plonker. ( just joking mate )
  6. "Seller Comment: To all you plonkers out there: This is no blog or chat forum. Please dream about some other car and keep away from this one. 1:23 pm, Tue 4 Mar" HAHAHHAHAHHA, someone create an account under the name of plonkerman and piss this guy off...
  7. "certainly sounds normal Otherwise the fuel pump in the three e30's I've owned was about to break" thanx, hehe I think its more than enuf warnings. shes a 4-door btw. I will just take it to glen and see wheres the hissing noise coming from. Sorry, my knowledge of cars and mechanical things is very basic. I am keen to get my hands dirty, although I am worried I might stuff something up and end up paying for a major repair.
  8. I don't hear the hissing noise inside the car. But when I get out, and when its idling. It seems to be coming from the rear centre, I am guessing the diff? Anyone encounter this problem before?
  9. imagine if someone modified it into a really potent drag car.
  10. thanx for the posts, well the car is running very smooth. Also, I hear a hissing sound from the rear or below the car, still haven't figured the position of the source. Yea, it might just be that I might have to get it checked or check it myself.
  11. how much was the replacement gonna cost?
  12. Number plate: ' SWINE ' how appropriate
  13. hello, I just bought a 88 325i a few weeks ago. Theres a strange whine coming from the rear of the car. I can hear it loud and clear while idling. I wish it was from the front boosting my car. Well, it seems to be the fuel pump. The guy I bought the car off, says its got an aftermarket fuel pump. I have also read that it might be the primer pump doing all the work instead of the main pump and hence whining about it?
  14. 88 325i auto, running 95, 33L gave me 300kms, 9.1L/100km but inlcudes open road driving
  15. the 2nd link is dead too
  16. Man, I remember this car. I nearly bought it, I had the money for it as well back then (2005). What put me off was his mate, he told me that the car had already been crashed 3 times. Now, I regret not buying it.
  17. man, thats a nice car. I know what you mean, I just bought an E30 and I am also a student. $480 to fix a radiator leak? Wouldn't it be cheaper just to install a new radiator?
